Psyched Substances is homeless

Gofund is unlikely to change one's life — compare it to winning the lottery.

Give $10M to someone who's financially immature and they will blow it within a few years.

It's money you didn't earn — better not to take it. The mindset should be the inverse, as Leo pointed out — to be willing to work your ass off and create an insane amount of value — and to take pride in taking only money you worked hard for. This mindset is very robust in that it creates the internal momentum for action, as well as preventing you from being scammed and entering get-rich-quick schemes.

But more seriously why did you settle there if you couldn't find a job? In a big city you could have easily found one. If you don't mind me asking.

It’s a long story. I think I have been a bit too optimistic when I moved there, it was cheaper to rent here but I didn’t expect it would be that hard to find a job when you have no car. I have an opportunity to get a job nearer (apple picking in a orchard) but I still need a car because there is no public transport to get me to that place, hence the GoFundMe. 🤷‍♀️
