Nothing important is happening

15 posts in this topic

We are just like the grass growing and the salmon spawning, just like a wildfire or disease spreading.

It's not crucial or important. It just happens.

It doesn't matter if it continues or stops.

It doesn't matter if reality is understood or not, or if you keep trying

The fame and fortune won't matter or eating healthy and exercising. The meditation, yoga and spiritual practices neither.

Nothing will save us, not knowing, not enlightenment, not not knowing

It's totally hopeless, but in this understanding there is also a sense of relief, a relaxation glimpse, a sense of unconditional freedom maybe.

An invitation to inevitable hopeless freedom

“Everything is honoured, but nothing matters.” — Eckhart Tolle.

"I have lived on the lip of insanity, wanting to know reasons, knocking on a door. It opens. I've been knocking from the inside." -- Rumi

if you mean death then yes but there is a higher intelligence that runs everything. When you sleep ..what keeps your eyes closed?  What digests your food right now ? What makes the earth orbit around the sun and around its axis? The ego self has no participation whatsoever in these processes yet something else is doing everything.

I love that life is meaningless.  An insignificant life is the best life to have.  Who the hell wants to be burdened with universal meaning?

It also frees me to find my own meaning and purpose.

Why do you think that’s the case? You made serious existential claims about life without explaining anything

Imagine God appears and gives you a choice: your penis will be sliced thinly with a bologna slicer, then you will eat it, and then you'll be slowly roasted on a grill with your whole family. Or, option B, you can go to the cinema and then have dinner at a nice restaurant.

Which option would you choose? If the answer is: "I don't care," then yes, you don't have a self and nothing matters.

All of these are stable processes that occur in reality. The universe is a process; everything is a process. Processes occur because there are no limits, so what is possible appears, combines, stabilizes, and then disappears.

Absolute intelligence is the impossibility of incoherence. Reality is absolutely perfect in the sense that what is not perfectly synchronized does not exist. There is no one directing the spectacle; God is not creating; it is creation itself that creates itself, emerging from the source, which is the absence of limits.

The absolute is a well of unfathomable depth, which, having no limits, is. And we are that. Being open to it is scary, but when you get used it's absolute freedom

Yes I was referring to body death.

Could self illusion/ego be that which believes in a higher power doing everything?

Anything can seem to matter temporarily, like avoiding physical/emotional pain.

Ultimately though, the amount of pain and pleasure experienced during life, doesn't matter upon death.

@VeganAwake I would always say that to people who tell me not to do something unhealthy. Dont do this you are going to die..Well so are you bro. It dosent matter what you do in between to change it.

Your life is already over, you are already dead.

What if the person telling me not to do these things dies tommorow? Would they equally wish that they did the same things I did because they werent going to make it to a higher age anyway?

Taking precautions could ruin your life as much as not.

Thinking with the socially conditioned mind only created more confusion and questions.

Like trying to find an exact location using the wrong map for that territory

But when that way of thinking ended, these claims became obvious.

And you don’t believe in death at least ? If the self is illusion then who dies ? If the body dies then are you the body ?
another question: could something be true without being a belief?

Everything is impermanence.

Any attempt to attain permanence from what is ultimately impermanence would be like trying to hold water with a sieve.

For those who are currently alive and breathing, we’re in this together , all aboard the same sinking titanic.

Happy Deathday. 🥳🎁
