Spiritual conundrum

7 posts in this topic

I am facing a dilema in my practice, so doing like 4 hours daily, anapana, kriya, do nothing, labeling, also tripping.

The practice is opening real fast right now. Sustained bliss, Seeing myself in everything, Sitting for hours just blissing out.

And the more it deepens the more everything else looks like decoration. I am less motivated to push to make more money, I am less motivated to put the effort into dating, cause I just love sitting, even when I experience negative emotions, it makes to so nice. However, this has consequences. I can see this effecting material aspects of my life. Which I am confused about.

How do you manage this? Ideally, I want to be and sit more, but it will take away to much form my daily life.

The highest understanding forbids survival.

Survival, if you wish to do so, must come at a cost. You must find balance between the two.

The two are not necessarily conflicting with each other. In fact .. if you enjoy just sitting there then it should mean you enjoy watching the birds more and enjoy going on walks with your friends even more . Because these things are naturally enjoyable. If your baseline of enjoyment is low such that you enjoy meditating then you should enjoy daily activities. Congratulations for seeing the beauty of just consciousness but next step is being able to enjoy doing your life .

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

All I want to do is watch birds and talk shit with people, this is the same as sitting, just being, but this is different from making money and putting in the effort to date.

Aha this is laziness then . Maybe the meditation is too much ? Meditation should teach you it’s all equal.   You must simply be happy within yourself.  Looking for happiness externally is a battle almost never won.  It is a thirst quenched only temporarily  with the thirst only to return with stronger vengeance.
it’s pointless to tell you this because no one is convinced of anything other than their own experiences..and I’m not sure if you have come to this same conclusion yourself .
my point is this doesn’t really make you broke or single .if you want to make money then what are you doing sitting on your ass ? There are ways of making money in this world..robbing a bank ..investing in the stock market ..bitcoin etc . Money is never made by sitting and doing nothing . My point is you don’t have to choose . Make time for mediation and time for practical things to achieve your goals . This is not rocket science.

Appreciate your advice. But I do work. I don't really have the energy to put into finding a gf for per se. I am working on a startup with my friend and I am meditating for four-five hours a day , I could be working more on the business to make more money, but I don't, so I make less money. That's annoying, but I'd rather meditate. Do you see what I'm saying?

Yeah I get it and sorry for sounding a bit flashy and rude.
again what you’re saying is that working  and making money or trying to get a girlfriend is simply difficult or requires effort and you don’t want to work..you’d rather sit and meditate but also you still want money and a relationship? Well this can’t fly . As a kid you hated going to school for example but you understand in hindsight this was for your greatest good?  I hate going to the gym every morning but no pain no gain .you have to bite that bullet.  What do you work as if you don’t mind beyond the startup ? Meditating 5 hours a day is a double edged weapon. Why are you meditating?
