Cranberry juice boosts brain function

24 posts in this topic

When i was in high school i suffered from chronic brain fog for several reasons; once i listened an online math course (it was during COVID) and after having consummed a lot of sweetened condensed milk my brain fog disapeared and i could understand the lesson.

That's true maybe I'll try mixing some pure sugar into water and just drinking it

This is something done by some of the best cycling athletes in there world, and it's not only about muscle glycogen but also about mental power to push yourself. Also Magnus Carlsen used to drink orange juice mixed with water every match for years. Also there's been studies showing sugar improving school test results for people with ADHD.

I've used sugar myself to increase mental performance in periods of high workload where I have a lot of problems to solve and stuff to do, what's worked well in terms of energy boost is sugar + a strict deadline. Also a friend of mine who runs a successful YouTube channel swears by energy drinks with sugar such as the redbull sugar version increasing performance significantly more than the no sugar version.

In other words I've observed a pattern of there being something to this, I would be curious to hear your results if you try it and report back, regardless of your results.

My experiments are mixed right now:

Soft drink causes brain fog and fatigue, it's black-and-white obvious and it happens within 10 minutes

Orange juice has a nice energy to it and improves overall performance, eating the orange feels just as good

Cranberry juice has a kind of high, it's very clear and altered kind of state almost like being abit drunk but without impairment.

Water with some table sugar in it makes me feel tired like the soft drink, but it's not as strong.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

I've found if I deviate too much from a certain ratio of carbs, protein and fats (and fibers and anti-inflammatories), my mind becomes foggier and slower. The same with eating too often or too much. The goal when eating I've found is to pack a lot of energy into your body (of course "the right type" of energy and the right amount), cut off the initial glucose response by walking or working out, and then ride the steady blood glucose without eating anything else until you're hungry again. Eating an in-between meal or just a fruit at the wrong time messes with that cycle, it kick-starts digestion again, blood glucose rises again, and if you don't lower it adequately, you end up with symptoms of restlessness, inflammation, brain fog (and of course you become desensitized to insulin so you want to eat more and after less time).
