Cranberry juice boosts brain function

Posted (edited)

I randomly decided to drink some 100% squeezed cranberry juice not from concentrate. And I drank about a cup of it and noticed within 10 minutes that my cognitive function improved quite a bit. So I experimented again for a couple of days and every time I drink it I get a boost of mental Clarity, productivity and Zone.

I just found it surprising, thought i would share lol

Are you sure it's not the sugar?

I use it for UTIs

lol ye I figured it might have special properties because it's useful for UTI.

But it turns out it's useful for your brain too. lol

It could be the sugar, apparently it helps your blood vessels relax so there's more blood flow to your brain.

I can understand that - but think about all the rest of the pure SHIT in coke. These chemicals, excluding sugar, could possibly be contributing.

That's true maybe I'll try mixing some pure sugar into water and just drinking it

Fuck man, I admire the diligence - Truly! You could also try it with just glucose. True scientist :P

I gotta say, you were the main inspiration for me purchasing a quality air monitor.

There was smoke haze over Melbourne 2 days ago, my eyes went bloodshot. Nose sniffling, lungs hurting and slight headache. The haze was barely perceptible to the senses. But my air monitor was pinging alerts, indicating the air quality was 'very high' in pollutants. I am not as diligent/anxious as yourself with this stuff, I just do what I can - but it made me think about China and India. They have some of the worst air quality on earth....

China then and India now are in the midst of a heavy industrial phase and consequently atmospheric pollution has increased a lot in industrial zones and regions.

However India has seen an increase in forest and tree cover to around 25 % of its total area in recent times, creating an additional 2.29 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide sink between 2005 and 2021.

India is ranked 5th among the top global carbon sinks, with its forests removing 150 Mt of CO₂ per year during 2021–2025. Only Russia, China, US and Brazil were ahead of it.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/lucknow/india-sees-rise-in-forest-cover-boosts-carbon-sink-capacity/articleshow/125336627.cms

Australia however faces a critical deforestation crisis, with nearly half of its forest cover destroyed in the last 200 years. Between 2000 and 2017, over 7.7 million hectares of forest and bushland were cleared, driven primarily by agriculture (beef production), land development, and mining.

Australia is the only developed country listed as a global deforestation hotspot.  Habitat loss is the biggest threat to native wildlife, contributing to Australia's status as having the highest rate of mammal extinctions globally.

Deforestation is a major contributor to Australia's greenhouse gas emissions, with land-use changes accounting for around 15% of total global emissions.

Conservationists should put a check on this rate of heavy deforestation to reduce greenhouse emissions.

@Ajay0 Oh for sure! The good thing about forest fires lol is that the main contaminate is at the particle level and MERV 13 HEPA filter remove 99.999% of particle.

wow you must have got hit with a high concentration, that's pretty rare when it's far away.
The main cause of death in a house fire is smoke inhalation and not actually the fire. Smoke is devastating on the system!

My ex is a fireman - it is well known in the brigades the shit they inhale and are exposed to is lethal.

They heavily advocate for fireys who suffer lung damage in the field. Many guys retire with extensive and permanent damage to their airways :(

It's a huge hazard and known risk with the job.
