This has nothing to do with what you were diagnosed with and everything to do with your emotional state or the way people understood YOU growing up.

I want to clearify that it is sometimes somewhat nauseating for me to write and read about this topic. Especially now that the term "pre-pubescent" is put into the mix. 

However there are few things stronger than my intellectual curiosity so it usually wins. I think it might actually be my number one value.

There is a big important difference here.

Two gays having sex in secret is easy to arrange. They will both keep it secret. Getting caught is very rare. They are both equally guilty/innocent. It hardly a crime because no one was harmed or deceived.

But a child is very risky because the child is likely to rat you out. Hiding a relationship with a child from the parents is very challenging and requires much manipulation and deception. That's why pedophiles are such clever groomers. There's no other way to fuck a child.

If a father finds out you fucking his child he might kill you. And the pedo knows this.

Id like to add:
A gay person acting on their orientation in a hostile country is demonstrating courage and a need for human connection.

A pedophile who offends against a child is demonstrating antisocial traits and lack of empathy.

So ye one has to be socially hidden and the other you can build a community around, the circumstances is different.

Often the predator is the father or stepfather. 

Parents and stepparents have unlimited private access to children, no grooming period needed, and the child is completely dependent on them for survival. There's no logistical challenge at all.

The child lives with them. Nobody is watching. And often the child has no real idea what's happening and are dependent on the parents for survival.

Then throw poverty in the mix, and you could see the difficulty level drops quite a bit.

The most common form of child sexual abuse is the one with the fewest barriers because it's within the family, the least detection because the child doesn't know what's happening they think it's love or normal, the lowest reporting rate, and the worst justice outcomes based on statistics.

The most common thing like I always hear from every sexual abuse victim is that a family member rapped then and then other family members covered it up or it was just not processed or reported.

Like the typical scenario that the father groomed the whole family and the mother. Or the mother has a new boyfriend and he raped the children for years, and the mother ignores it because she's focussed on her own survival and doesn't want to derail her life.

I know someone who was raped by the stepfather, and she went to the police and because she didn't have semon evidence (she took a shower) so they did nothing. The mother stayed with the rapist and Will emotionally shut down if any conversation about it happens. 

So the justice system largely completely fails these children.

Rape convictions are super strict, you need DNA evidence.
