Concern about "True Religion"

38 posts in this topic

In Leo's recent video (Epistemic Responsibility) and on some of his recent blog posts, he has referred to Actualized.org as "True Religion," which to be clear, I personally have zero issue with this. In fact, for me what Actualized.org is, is very much like a religion (not in the ideological sense, at least not entirely.)

But if this was the first episode of his I had listened to, I would have been immediately turned off. Perhaps that is the intention? Is it the intention to scare away anyone who doesn't currently understand?
I doubt that.

I understand why calling Actualized.org "True Religion" makes complete sense and is completely appropriate. But when anyone else who hasn't listened to Leo talk for hundreds of hours, what they hear will likely be "The True Religion" which isn't what Actualized.org is.

While a part of me loves this term "True Religion" and feels that it is very fitting, it heavily risks bringing ideology with it. With how many warnings and disclaimers Leo puts warning against blind faith, and the vital need to self verify his claims, I'm surprised Leo would even allow this word to enter his vocabulary.

I suppose this is also similar to Leo using the word "God" when the God Leo describes is far different from most conceptions of God, but nonetheless, the word God happens to be a more truthful symbolic representation of God. Perhaps it is the same situation with "True Religion"

I have very mixed feelings about this term, what do y'all think about it?

I am not trying to scare anyone away.

However, I have done this work for so long and it has become so deep now that I cannot be constantly catering to skittish newbies.

I speak what is true without triangulating about who it will offend. I can't be bogged down by those concerns anymore. If people are scared then they are not mature enough to learn what I have to teach anyway. I can't sugarcoat this work for people.

How many people do you think I lost by speaking about God so much? A lot. But I can't be catering my work to people like that.

I said True Religion for my hardcore listeners who can appreciate what that means. Newbies will not understand.

This doesn't mean I'm starting some ideology.

The world needs ditch diggers too.

@cetus Why not be an awakened ditch digger :D

"Ditch digger" meaning those who refuse to awaken. -They live in a spiritual ditch of their own making. They don't want Truth. They want what serves them best.

For the newbies out there. Too simple to fully understand.

@Leo Gura I get that. It's a difficult situation.
I do wonder though, if your viewers started advertising Actualized.org as "True Religion" would that make you uncomfortable?

Yes, which is why I said it a couple times and I won't be emphasizing that in the future. It's not a marketing campaign, it's an insight.

I tried to give you the insight of what religon was supposed to be like, before it was corrupted.

I will never allow Actualized.org to become a religion or ideology. That will never happen as long as I'm alive. There is zero risk of that.

Oh man. I was going to print up some pamphlets and spread the word.

Most people who study Actualized.org will never even know it was true religion, until a decade into the work. Then they will say, "OMG! Of course!"

That's the epiphany for serious students.

It goes a bit deeper than just, "When all false notions are dissolved, only Truth remains". Much deeper!

Its like a true religion but the teacher cant be true. You actually cant hold the truths Leo says. Those are still dogmatics in religion. But if you think they are good and follow them you can use the thought pattern above God.

The lesson of religion is don't make a religion out of anything because all religion is fucking stupid.

Thanks for making this move towards your higher-end students rather than focusing on the lower-end. I think it's the right decision and it will eventually cascade down to everyone.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

It's very tricky balancing between catering to newbies vs veterans.

I still don't know how to balance this. It is trial and error for me.

In the end I have to make content that I myself would like to consume. I can't be pandering to people.
