The AI crash is impossible - Change my View

Supposedly is the key word.

People are making slop. Not real software. Yes, you can create slop apps that copy existing apps poorly. This has no value.

A working prototype of Figma built in a weekend with strategic AI orchestration has no value? lol. If it allows millions of people to stop paying for Figma, it has a ton of value. Also, my main point wasn't about the application itself so much as it was the implication of what's now possible.

Let's not forget that almost all software starts out as slop and is refined over time, regardless who makes it. "Done is better than perfect". "Move fast and break things".

Whoever created that Figma clone could spend the next 6 months refining it, and a billion dollar company could stand to lose a lot. That's a real threat. And it's not just one guy out there working on a figma clone.

The possibility space has changed drastically with Claude Opus 4.6. If you haven't been using Claude since the beginning and haven't been tracking its capabilities, you would have to defer to your intuition or some talking head about what's possible. The only way to know what's possible is to actually use it and judge it from there.

Most of the the failure modes that existed 6 months ago don't exist anymore, which you could only know by using it.

Leo I am a software developer. AI is fully capable to create real software. Not by scratch there are many iterations. It still needs a developer for sure.

Yes so far no software developer is replaced by AI in my company. But we don't hire new ones.

@Leo Gura I have no wish for AGI or care about any predictions because I lack the deep technical expertise to have an opinion. I'd argue against the cognitive decline point and say it's true for the majority, but not all.

But I was saying we're at a point where intelligent AI orchestration can build complex software and the barrier to entry has recently dropped far, far below what it was 6, or even 3 months ago.

An intelligent person could now use AI to brute force most existing software because 80-90% of software exists to move data around, display it, let users interact with it, etc, and AI understands all these patterns very well. This very forum is just a data model with a UI on top. It wouldn't be ambitious to build a better version in a week.

I can see where you're coming from if you're looking at LLMs through the lens of chatbots. It does seem chatbots in general have stagnated. But the most significant developments happening now are with agents, and they're huge. And they definitely shouldn't be conflated with chatbots.

Some of the robots I've seen can barely stand upright for more than a few minutes. Others are more impressive.

Isn't this more of a hopeful dream or future possibility than a present reality?

Again, not saying there can't be some truth to those claims.

Show me the videos! These are the videos that I'm seeing and I doubt you can do this.

This is really far fetched man. So you are saying that some combination of opus agents can create a better version of Invision board?

No, I don't think so.

Russia is far behind on AI and robotics. I would look into US and Chinese tech. They will be whiping your ass on your old day instead of the cute nurses.

There were also some Chinese ones and whatnot.

But the joke's on you, I'll be the robot wiping your ass.

This is beautiful, this will soon mark the end of human deaths in warfare. It's already so politically hard for any government with a semblance of a trust based society to go make their soldiers die for them but if from I believe in the next few year when these can be deployed as platoons for on ground situations like in Iran right now it will be mostly unconstitutional to send human soldiers to die in wars.

You couldn't use AI to recreate my main site code, nevermind this forum. This forum is so complex it would make your head spin.

Perhaps for now, but it would create less complicated version with the same functionality

More like every soldier will have a squad of drones on the battle field, every fighter jet pilot will have a squad of drones in the air too. They will wipe those people out who say AI is stupid and unnecessary.

"AI is a fad, it is just a hype. It will never replace humans. Look it can't even walk huhuh, AI can't wipe my ass blabla." this is what Armenian soldiers said before meeting their end, I followed this war closely, Armenians were so arrogant.....

This Karabakh war was the first war that waked a lot of nations up to robots, drones and AI. It was literally the equavalent of homosapein versus neatherthaler,

but nowadays fight will be between human sapien versus AI integrated human.

You don't need 80% of that legacy PHP for this use case. Talk about bloated slop. It's funny you guys are invoking code quality while defending Wordpress-adjacent legacy PHP.

I don't care about code quality, I only care that it works.

Your AI slop will not work in live business use cases. Your AI slop could not even handle this forum traffic without corrupting the forum database and destroying itself.

One error in writing to the database would destroy this forum.
