Hey everyone. This Sunday, February 8, the National Football League (NFL) is hosting Super Bowl LX. It will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and the two teams competing are the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

I’m writing this thread because I’m curious whether anyone in this community, particularly spiritual people and who care about whether or not something is ā€œhigh-consciousnessā€, and being highly conscious, are planning to watch the game this Sunday.

I’ve heard Leo criticize sports and sports fans many times in his videos. In his video about wisdom, he cited sports fans as an example of fools. He called the Olympics a cult in his video about life being a mind game, and of course, we can’t forget this classic, skip to 21:50 in the video below.

I don’t know yet if I want to watch the Super Bowl yet. I support the Baltimore Ravens and I try to watch them play when I can.Ā
Ā

I def want the Seahawks to win, theyĀ have only one Super Bowl trophy and the Pats have six.

Nah, I'll watch the real football (soccer) World Cup next summer - unless it somehow gets sabotaged because of what's going on in the U.S.

I used to watch ball games as a child and teenager, but i enjoyed playing them more. Now i just see monkeys running around chasing a ball and getting paid ridiculously high for it cause so many people enjoy watching monkeys chase balls i guess... The Olympics is sometimes fun to glimpse if i ever am watching tv, but yeah again, as your brain expands, it starts to look more and more stupid and becomes a waste of time, same old patterns.

You can actually abstract this conclusion to cover almost any human activity actually.Ā  I'm not a huge fan of sports, but I will say this in its defense -- most people don't understand the intricacies that are going on and the strategies that are going on in a football game.Ā  It's deeper than it looks on the surface.Ā Ā

I am not a fan of sports, but I do love music. So I will watch the music part.

The Super Bowl is really an event or happeningĀ that gives a reason to come together.Ā  It's an event where we may (or not) rally around.Ā  You might laugh at this, but it's true.Ā

It's funny becauseĀ this isĀ not a bug, it'sĀ a feature.Ā  We want to laugh.Ā  Who doesn't?Ā  We want to engage thru laughter. That's Love, in part.Ā  RelationĀ thru amusement.Ā Ā

Really nice, thank you especially to all who voted in the poll.

But my question still remains, why is there such a drift or contrast between the type of person who watched Actualized.org content, and the type of person that watches the NFL?

I'd argue one reason is that NFL glorifies violent domination of one group of people over others. Stage red stuff.

And, many actualized.org people like more stage green stuff more. And spend more time thinking about how to stop violent domination of others in the world.

There is no failure, only feedback

One small step at a time. No one climbs a mountain in one go.

I am aware of that stuff, it can get very interesting indeed, but after awhile, its the same patterns over and over again, eventually the cycle no longer provides growth, unless you yourself are actually playing rather than watching other people play all the time. That's at least what I have come to realize in life in general.

For example: I used to watch people all the time playing music and sports and singing and until i started playing and practicing myself. I finally understood why i watched so much and realized i needed this for my own self-therapy and healing that no screen or watching others could provide me as deeply, besides the inspiration. Then there was something new and unpredictable every time, and growth out of general day to day patterns started to occur, and that's when it clicked to me more deeply when Bashar said that "physical action" is the "language" of physical reality, that if we aren't living what we watch, preach, read, exchange with, it only becomes dead weight on our beings and a burden.

Ultimately these sports are a symbology for winning at life IMO, we all wanna win, but competitive winning is a lower form of consciousness how i see it today, you can win at life without competition. Buddha did it, Christ did it, many others did, and excelled far more than any sports star or competition-based system ever did. I could of been a great soccer player and even basketball but i dropped it when a higher consciousness took over. Pissed my father off a lot because he was hoping i become a millionaire and fulfill his desires, but i found far greater peace and dropped trying to always be the best at everything, because I mostly was, and my ego was becoming too toxic, then the universe would slap me in the face again and again.

No right or wrongs ofc, just my two cents, eventually we all need to level up and drop things that no longer help us grow and expand.

Why do you have a desire to win in the way you are suggesting here?

I see "winning" as living life to the fullest, growing, expanding, thriving, evolving and ascending, as a soul. Most people are ok with barely existing and surviving, but that's not really a rich and fulfilling life for me. I wanna go in and come out with a bang, otherwise whats the point, waste of pure potential.

We are all here to leave our mark, and best make it count while it lasts, cause one day were all gonna wake up from this dream. This is what came to me in my earlier days of meditation, that if we don't change and grow, we will keep reincarnating and repeating the same cycles.Ā

Eventually we have to level up :PĀ but first we must stop playing the lower levels, if you will.Ā

This is where you and me might have different insights.Ā  Thanks for taking the time to explain this.Ā  I love it.

You’re right.

I am not merely a person watching sports. I AM the ball itself!

I guess I'm both types of person, since I do both.Ā Ā

As of now, the yes’s are at three and the no’s are at eleven.

A disproportionate amount of people who are into this work are not into football.

My original hypothesis had been confirmed, and this is our conclusion.

But if you haven’t answered the poll so far, please do so. Unless you’re not American, as the NFL is an American cultural event.
