Wonder how much this plays into an attack happening. I’ve seen it commented around as a argument / factor.

The US wanted Iran to concede around three things - nuclear, ballistic missiles, proxy support. The US left the JCPOA and last time during “discussions” they rug pulled Iran and Israel launched an attack. Don’t see why Iran or any country would trust the US.

Even if they come to some sort of agreement on nuclear - it’s very unlikely they will give up on ballistic missiles as that’s their only real deterrance left.

Trump and the US now need some sort of safe facing off ramp as they’ve gone all out with posturing up in the Middle East and can’t be seen as doing nothing and leaving. Iran says they’ll react to any action without restraint this time round compared to last time which is de-escalatory theatrics.

I still don't see any reasonable chance.

It's Greenland that should worry, Trump will use when impeachment starts. Looks like an attack on Cuba soon but that's not enough for the Epstein trials.

I think it will be Greenland, not an attack, but the u.s. is just going to take it, just show up and declare it Trumpland. Iran is just way too strong, the U.S. Generals are shitting in their boots right now thinking about it, they will tell Hegseth and Trump.

Second Naval strike group is headed toward Iran, largest carrier in the world. A week out.

Ol' Epstein files release was not good for Iran... possibly the world too, this could easily escalate to WW3.

Most of the comments on Islamic Republic's military capabilities are funny.

Ofcourse this is what they want the outside world to believe, that they have military might. But they don't guys. Trust me. You will see very soon. They are much much weaker and dumber than what they pretend.

No one, including the body of Iran's military, wants to fight US or any other country in the first place, only bunch of old stupid mullas want to set the world on fire and make everyone muslim.

They cannot do shit to american military. Its like a 10 year old fighting a 25 years old kick boxer. The child might kick the guy in the balls, by luck!, but he cannot do any real harm. The child wants you to believe he is a 25 year old mma fighter though!

Exactly. I see so many shmucks in the West that are basically useful idiots for them.

It doesn't seem the U.S. has any chance against Iran

Amazing analysis here, goes over their capabilities quite thoroughly in this article

https://www.armyrecognition.com/news/army-news/2026/iran-builds-layered-missile-and-mine-shield-against-u-s-carriers-in-strait-of-hormuz

"Iran’s defensive design for a clash with the United States is built less around winning decisive naval or air battles and more around manufacturing sustained friction at every layer of the campaign. The intent is to pull U.S. forces into a dense, overlapping threat environment where time, interceptor inventories, and political tolerance become the real centers of gravity."

"At the core is an institutional split that is operationally meaningful in wartime: the regular Navy for a broader Gulf of Oman presence, and the IRGC Navy for the Persian Gulf and Strait fight, paired with “mosaic” decentralization meant to keep local commands lethal even under heavy electronic attack and decapitation pressure. This matters because U.S. plans rely on compressing the battlespace through rapid suppression of air defenses, maritime surveillance dominance, and the destruction of launchers. Iran’s answer is dispersion, redundancy, and volume: many small launch points, many cheap shooters, and enough mid-tier systems to complicate every phase of a U.S. air-sea campaign."
