Beaten-up electric guitars as decoration. Some guitarists look foward for this  :(O.o

I took this photo yesterday.

They were probably used by some famous or something.

Although I wouldn't mind having those in my house :D

@Joseph Maynor What is wrong in an MP3?

Vinyl sometimes sounds fuller and warmer to me.  It depends on the pressing.

All of nostalgia falls into this category, why play on a game boy when we can use a emulator?

MP3 is practically superior to vinyl, but basing the value on practicality is only one dimension.

Even when there's no sound quality difference, Both are different experiences, so the value is in the experience.

Phenomenal state, what's valuable is the feel, the qualia of the vinyl experience. The warmth, the ritual-feeling. This is hedonic, value = quality of conscious state.

What's valuable is the quality of the lived experience itself, not the external output.

3rd dimension, the vynal is art, the mp3 is not.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

I wonder how much is nostalgia and how much is conformity. I don't know. If it's nostalgia I am okay with that.

They go wrong, that’s what’s wrong.

I think this question flattens the felt experience with conforming.

The wine connoisseur, is it that he knows that it's a prestigious expensive, rare bottle and that's the only reason he enjoys it? or does he enjoy it without any ideology?

Will a Christian stop enjoying prayer if their beliefs are removed?

  • A Christian can feel Nostalgia every time they pray as it reminds them of a past memory. <- feeling anchored to his own history (not conformity).
  • A Christian can feel fearful when they're praying because they don't want to be punished for wrong thoughts. <- feeling anchored to an internalized structure (absorbed rule/story). (conformity)
  • A Christian can feel good that they're praying because it makes them respectable in the eyes of others. <- feeling anchored to the social group. (conformity)
  • A Christian can feel peaceful when praying because they enjoy having a connection with God. <- feeling anchored to the felt experience of contact with god. (not conformity)

Their feelings are sometimes conformist sometimes not.

Praying is a conformist act when the desire to do it comes for the inwards absorbed system, but during prayer the experience can be authentic, like having nostalgia because the feeling is anchored to his own history.

The feeling of contact to god is real (authentic, anchored to present experience). The interpretation -> "this is specifically the God my church describes" is conformist.

The hippie feels vinyl is best because the feeling is anchored to fitting into vintage culture. (conformity).

in practice he has 5-6 feelings about vinyl simultaneously all anchored differently.

Vinyl is different every time you listen to it, no two are as identical, and its not as sharp(artificial) as mp3, infinite variation of your favorite piece, mp3 is exactly the same. Not as varied as live performance obviously, but why do you like live performance over mp3, it's much more ridiculous a question than mp3 vs vinyl, but it's the same sentiment, same with sharpness, mp3 is too 'good'. Fake boobs vs real boobs, more complexity, vinyl has teany overtones that change every time and are unintentional, less man made polish, old jacket or clothes vs new jacket, synthetic vs. Accoustic, aged wine or bourbon.

Listening to the song the same exact way over and over is the definition of insanity! /s

Finding something funny because it is true

what he found funny was something his group thinks as obviously true = conformity.

you were not wrong. just didnt point to what the feeling is anchored to.

his feeling is anchored to a unexamined internalized structure = group think.

Anti-AI movement.

Nonetheless my position is to be mostly skeptic of AI because of the trap of giving up your own critic thinking. There's no actual need for AI to infest every corner.

@Leo Gura Why use an MP3 over a smartphone?

What makes designer purses like Hermes and Louis Vuitton silly? I can see how Hermes has nothing special but I personally enjoy some Louis Vuitton bags/designs.
