Tier 2 debates tier 1, Bryan Johnson on jubilee

60 posts in this topic

When I was younger and has death anxiety and I always wondered why are there no billionaires looking at death? Why are they focused on rockets and AI When we are going to die it makes no logical sense. If I was billionaire I would end this. I couldnt understand why no one was doing this. Then I saw God and all my fears of death went away.

Of course there are. But it is fantasy.

Billionaires pay to have their heads frozen. Lol

Trying to delay death is just so juvenile. Which explains my attitude towards this Bryan guy.

You got 80 years. Make it count. Don't ask for more. That's my attitude.

If hes scared of dying and already took drugs that means hes still carrying the heavy burden of death and didnt realize anything. Death is a must! If no one dies evolution stops. The most intelligent part of existence ends!

God is death this is anti God rhetoric.

Its like if Earth were a video game wants us to permanently hold our spot on the server so no one else can play.

The man is in a good spot, he said when he was in a bad spot he wanted to kill himself, now he dosent want to die when hes in a good one.

You cant defeat death you can only run from it.

I also think this debate style is the worst.

If you really think the things he is doing won’t help populations I think that is wrong.

Did I claim that though? Which is sort of what I am pointing to. Because he is doing some good things. I think you assume I do not see the good stuff simply because I can discern oddities/inconsistencies with someone's message/character.

I have been tracking his progress for a good few years, because I am curious.

God forbid someone tries to push the boundaries of what is possible, and it's not within an acceptable scope of boundary pushing according to the stage green commie pitty party wokies or the psychadelic taking wookies, AND HE'S RICH ON TOP OF THAT? How dare he! LOL

I'll take billionaires like Bryan any day over anti Christ's like Peter Thiel, Donald Trump and Mohammed Bin Salman. Maybe I'd also take Warren Buffet, uncle Buffet seems pretty chill.

It is good if he is genuinely innovating things.

I just worry about the fantasy that is being created and normalized in that pursuit.

We already won that competition - Jesus's been dead for a long time now.

At least until we get disqualified too.

And pretty much everyone is afraid of death - perhaps even on a genetic level.

Living forever is obviously a nonsensical fantasy althought I still find it understandable if people sometimes wonder what would it feel like to live that long, however if that fantasy leads to some breakthrought discoveries allowing people to live longer then that's fine in my book.

Personally I wouldn't mind prolonging my life for like additional 50 years, given that I could live it out in it's entirety youthfully and healthilly, because I feel like my enviroment and circumstances took so much of my youthfull time away from me already, and will continue to. So much time just feels wasted, so if it has to be wasted then it wouldn't hurt living somewhat longer to compensate for that.

Who knows, we might get to a point one day where dying becomes entirely voluntary. It feels kinda uncomfortable to think about it like that

I think of the very least not dying from poor life style habits is possible and having good health for longer. That is my interest. He helped me really think more about my sleep.

I don’t want to live forever because I know the truthhhhh

I don't necessarily think any of this research is bad. I love it, actually.

If the goal is to avoid dying, but in doing so, you end up prolonging good health, youth, and life, whether for 10, 20, 50, 100, or even 200 years, I see that as amazing.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

Humans used to live until 20, or even less. What we have now seems impossible to people from the caveman, plague, or war eras, so I don't think there's anything fundamentally wrong with it.

You could say that avoiding death is really about wanting to love life and being able to experience it as fully as possible, remaining as healthy as possible for as long as possible. There's nothing wrong with that.

I think the only issue with the marketing is the "against death" angle. Instead, it could just focus on improving health, youth, and longevity. But I understand that, for shock value and branding, it’s a more attention-grabbing and strategic business move. Although I'm not sure how beneficial it is for him in the long run, since it shifts the focus from the practical goal of improving lifespan (which I do think ironically most people will agree with) to more philosophical debates from people about "the meaning of life and death."

And obviously, when people see a billionaire, especially without talking about how to solve financial issues with a longer lifespan or UBI, it’s easy to see how people might get worried or triggered. So, I think it might be more strategic for him to find common ground by saying something like, "I want to focus on health research and overall improvement, and I'm willing to guinea pig myself for it. I’ll try to pack the most efficient methods and make it as affordable as possible for the general public." And if he actually follows through on that message, then it’s awesome.

No need to make it so sensational, like "Billionaire trying not to die." That kind of framing just breeds ragebait from people, haha.

I think Brian takes it further than this, one of the main focusses is state and StateMaxing. Maxing state as part of maxing quality of your life and consistent energy/state throughout the day. This is the best part of his longevity brand. For this reason i like what hes doing because the quality of state that most people live by is just brain fog. And of course, quality state benefits everything associated with consciousness work.

Request: We need a StateMaxing subforum lol

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

The basics he promotes are really good - 90% of all you need. And it is a good reminder to many who have forgotten these basics, or are so mired in technology they forget.

He just has some whack shit going on as well :P

But we all do, so...

Eh... this is very biased, to be honest.

If someone invented a magical potion today with no side effects to restore your health, youth, and longevity, you'd probably take it. It’s the same argument people make comparing drugs and meditation: "Oh, that’s not real enlightenment, you’re supposed to struggle for 30+ years, and maybe then you’ll reach God! Drugs don't count!" ... "Oh, that's not true living, you’re meant to get 80 years and that’s it. Don’t ask for more, don't try to outplay reality!"

Back in the days of the plague, the Dark Ages, or caveman times, you'd be saying, "You’ve got 20 years. Make it count. Don't ask for more. That's my attitude."

Nothing wrong with trying to make the most of our time here and even extend it, while improving the quality of our experience.
