In defense of alcohol.

In defense of alcohol : People who are against alcohol usually talk about its negative outcomes on health. However there's benefit in experiencing alcohol and its effect to gain awareness into what the alcoholic experience feels like. It's just like with sex or drugs, people may say sex could lead to diseases, or drugs can have negative outcomes health wise. However engaging in those activities is part of what makes life rich and meaningful. Life isn't supposed to be risk free and without danger and even pain. Life is supposed to be risky, dangerous and even painful. Why did God create suffering if not because of the thirst God had to experience it. Because all experience brings about some wisdom to be learned and some awakening to a new facet of life. Hell you might become a connoisseur of alcohol and it can become your deepest passion and bring you much more fulfillment and meaning than negativity in your life. Also there's a difference in degrees and how alcohol affect people differently, there's a spectrum there. All of these nuances have to be taken into account when talking about alcohol, besides just it's potential negative health consequences. Plus i notice a double standards when people will demonize alcohol or drugs and do other potentially unhealthy dangerous activities like consuming a lot of junk food, or a lot of toxic content on social media which might harm their mental health and might also harm them in deeper ways.

I used it as a way to meditate. When people are hungover they ususally get anxiety and go do something, like clean their house or go out to stop the anxiety but I would lay there looking behind my eyes. I started seeing shit behind my eyes like static moving images I would tell my friend I see shit moving behind my eyes. I would say I think our brain are dreaming all the time even while we are awake.

Without alcohol I wouldnt have meditated. But with it I have meditated probably 1000s of hours like 16 hours at a time. I didnt even know I was doing it or what meditating is.

Once I awakened I just stopped drinking. My soul or intelligence was doing it.

WHATEVER it is you are doing your soul is doing it intelligently for a reason. Dont listen to other people about what is good and what is bad.

I drink my self to death and I came back. That was the best thing I ever did cause I saw God. And it was THE key part to me awakening. If I didnt do that I wouldnt have seen God in my awakening.

If someone came up to me and said hey dont drink yourself to death it would have been a detriment for my spiritual path to listen to them.

Yeah and this is exactly what alcohol protects your mind from. Its a crutch. It numbs you and gives you comfort.

If you use alcohol it's mainly for the taste.

Nah. People find all kinds of ways to get it down because they want the effect.

I meant that people who want drug themselves on purpose will directly go to strong and cheap alcohol like vodka; and it’s still dumb/desperate because alcohol is a mediocre drug.

You can avoid drugs and if you do you have plenty of drugs who feel way better and are less toxic.

It’s only “smart” to do alcohol if you appreciate the degustation; like wine, beer, whisky…

Agreed, although beer finds a good sweet spot as its cheap and tastes decently so you can gulp down a lot of it.

Did you want to say "If you use alcohol it should be mainly for the taste." ? I think just the way you phrased it confused me.

Liking wine is partly conformity. 95 % of all wine tastes nasty, according to me. Few people from winemaking countries will admit this readily because of survival.

Before Leo mentioned this I was under the impression that it was only I who thought this. Nope.

To each his own. I don't see an actual point in drinking and increasingly more people in my generation seem to see it the same way. Despite that however, I reckon there's always gonna be sizeable majority of people keeping this industry alive so it's never going away. But hey, you can go ahead, I always feel better about myself and my life choices so far when I see a group of drunks stumbling around the street, coping that their social lives are better as a result. LOL

Why would you do that.

Unless you bought sh** wine is expensive for only 10% of alcohol.

Beer dosent taste alcohol, it's especially taste hop.

The term "beer" is also meaningless; it depends on whether it's a blonde, a brown, or an amber ale, whether it's a pils, a lager, an IPA, a NEIPA etc.

The brand matters too; there are some awful beers and some very good ones. It also depends on whether you're drinking it on its own or with food; beer goes well with most dishes, white wine with cheese or seafood, and red wine with other things.

Because it's too sweet it doesnt taste good most of the time.

A Coke or fruit juice is fine for a snack and/or when it's hot, especially for children; as an accompaniment to a meal it's already less good, even bad. it depends

Anyone who eats anything other than pasta with ham and butter is a liar.

This explains the idiocy of wine

I love beer, but I pretty much only drink the alcohol free stuff.
