Gone through Life Purpose Course but almost no results

15 posts in this topic

Sup everyone, last year went through a Life Purpose Course of Leo`s. But the thing I was left with is just ambiguous directions that I can, maybe, move to. I contemplated all the questions about my life purpose and cannot graps what even my ideal job could be.

The most prevailing answer I get is that I don`t have much life experience. I`m 18. Did all the socionics like mbti and many other tests. To be more detailed: I`m ENTJ-A, sometimes ENTP-A with the strengths: 1. Humor 2. Social Intelligence 3. Perspective 4. Love of learning + curiosity 5. Honesty

Has anyone been in the same situation? Give some advice, please :)

yeah I was in a pretty similar position. I took the course when I was 19 and had a vague direction of just wanting my job to be creative and intellectually fulfilling in some way. Its just very difficult to lock down what you want your life to be like 10-20 years from now when you barely know yourself, your likes/dislikes, true values, and core skills.

I spent the next 2-3 years trying literally everything. Computer science, music, art, writing, filmmaking, content creation, some form of entrepreneurship, medicine, and more. Eventually you narrow down what you could see yourself doing and if you realitically commit to this craft for at least a decade.

Basically my advice would be to just make a list of the top 5 areas that interest you, and then commit to making small projects to get a feel of what its really like

I'd go back over the steps he outlines in the course - its really easy to have resistance to taking the simple steps, like just doing enough research, making the small bets from the book 'so good they can't ignore you' - watch all those videos again and take notes and then work out how to apply them. Also you have to allow things to unfold so start and commit to things but go easy on yourself and just see how it goes, don't beat yourself up if you aren't getting anywhere yet, just don't quit, commit to finding the life purpose, what else would you be doing in life?

Thank you. Will do it!

Unfortunately, for many people, they need to earn good salary and they are Not really able to create any sustainable or good business for themselves.

Hey man, I took the course whenI. was 16 or 17, now 23. Don't worry, this is normal, a couple tips.

-Start with the small bets. Just try something. there is no one perfect thing.

-Then, it will be like peeling back layers of an onion. I also just didn't have enough life experience, but after doing a couple different things, I have enough perspectives on what things I want to integrate into what my life purpose is. Business model, domain, what you will do, your area of mastery, you really can't know these things for sure yet.

When I did it, it felt fake almost, like I followed the steps, but I just knew I was putting something together that I had no idea if it was real or not. Don't expect instant results, this is material you will work with for a very long time, it's a long game, not a short game. For me, I honestly just needed to get a job I enjoyed and buy myself some time for a while while I explored different options.

Now my life purpose is very close actually to my original one and in the same category, but the business model is completely different

Thank you very much! By the way, what areas did you play small bets in?

I took the LP course when I was 22, but I didn’t get a good result due to I believe lack of experience. I’m doing it again now at 30, I’m halfway through, but I already have a sense of how it’s going to turn out. I recommend trying different things, observing what interests you, and diving deeper into those.

If you don't know all those concepts you are walking in the dark. It's not the end all be all, you will need more information relative to your specific life purpose and personal self. It's a great foundation though and I'm very glad I took it. It was also good to get it as something I was thinking about and to set my goals high.

Year 3. Work 3 jobs

4. - 7 start bizness fail fast. Start another...make it work

You really gotta take action, experiment, and actually try things out. See how you feel when you are doing them. I believe Leo called these "Mini projects" or something like that in the course.

Once you try enough things out you will start to get a better sense of what you actually enjoy, not just what sounds good in your head. From there you can iterate and start practicing to master skills in that field. That's when it gets really fun.
