Investigating a sensation currently present and relaxing into what knows that sensation is not a conceptual exercise.

Investigating a thought currently present and relaxing into what knows that thought is also not a conceptual exercise.

But making conceptual statements and making inferences about the boundaries and the limitations and the ontological status of those sensations, of course, are.

What is important here is not the object of experience, which would be conceptual exercise, but always being more interested in the subject of that appearant object, be it conceptual object (thought) or a perception/sensation.

There is one common isness/nowness that knows all these different objects which itself can't be seen as an object, which makes it so appearantly elusive. Cant be seen as an object, but it can be beinged - only now. Thats it, if I weren't it, I wouldn't be able to know it. I can only know it because I am it.

"The isness that can't be seen as an object" is a profound description which is the point I'm getting at. The moment you start talking about objects that can be seen, then what are we talking about? Objects that can be seen. The isness in its most fundamental sense stands impartial to the objects that can be seen.

"Simply being here and now" is not enough yes, you have to also be interested about it and to know that you are here and now. Literally everyone is here and now, but who is knowingly here and now? Not many.

I meant it in the way you're describing.

I feel like some here have strong spiritual egos that are hard to get through. I like the beginners mindset always, beginning from what we have here and now, not from content of the mind or something learnt, because that would stain our investigation, it won't be as pure as it can be.

Yes, it can be a good introduction to spirituality, but it can't end there. This form of self-knowledge remains too limited to fully reveal what we truly are.

I began my journey with witnessing my thoughts patterns and being in the present. Then i did other practices, then gained spiritual ego (ego got attached to spiritual concepts). Occasionally i would return by being in the now and witnessing the change inside and outside. Only the changeless can witness change. It felt weird coming back where i had began, by being in the now. I concluded that being in the now is a good practice to do on any level spiritual development. That conclusion was false. Now i know that the now moment is the portal to love, truth and spirituality. It is the only state where the mental chatter subsides. Illusion vanishes and the real of what i am (and you are) emerges.

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.
