The way I see it is that satanism is a reaction to the excesses of mainstream religion. It includes a coalition to prevent religious ideologues from having their religion be the only ones who get their religion taught in schools. They are part of the reason why Christians haven't already taken over the educational system because they constantly stop them with legal battles.

They also reject things like purity culture, wallpapering over doubts, and many other things. They interpret Satan as a symbolic figure rather than a literal figure as most of them are atheists. I have an overall positive opinion of satanists compared to mainstream Christianity in America and what it stands for. They are preventing the take over of the church.

Satanism (from what little I researched about it back when I was a teenager, which I looked up because I was frequently called a Satanist) seems to be based in things that serve the self and center the self as the source of power. They don't seem to actually worship Satan as a deity, though perhaps some do.

It also seems like a "live and let live... until someone messes with you. Then, it's an eye for an eye."

And a lot of the Satanic texts read like an edgy 14 year old wrote them like, "If someone bothers you, destroy them!".... and some are just common sense Humanist values like, "Don't harm children."

Ultimately, it just seems like a self-oriented kind of religion that's sometimes Humanist in nature and other times just ridiculous in its edginess.

Here are the Satanic 11 Commandments listed below...

• Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
• Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
• When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
• If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
• Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
• Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
• Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
• Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
• Do not harm little children.
• Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
• When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

Sigh... Why would a poetry of stupidity bring someone joy? Acceptance and acknowledgement of darkness is important. But to glorify darkness is to dive deeper into stupidity. Unless you want that, then it's okay.

I mean bullshitters are also God, difficult to swallow. I was once and for time, a long one unfortuanltey a bullshitter. There needs to be a positive force that comes from deep within from a sovereign place within oneself and then it is all love. May God make us one of them. Then it is not a battle between light and dark it is just the activity of love.
