@Someone here If you are taking it seriously why are you doing it if you say its going to kill you? Obviously you are lying.

@Hojo 😂

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

@Someone here Are you taking your addiction seriously or life and death?

One is made up the other is real. You dint have an addiction you want to do it. You are arguing with yourself because someone scared you and made the cigarette look like a gun to you when its not.

Osho just said God is allowing you into heaven and  is allowing you to smoke.

@Hojo lets just not talk or argue about that since it obviously leads nowhere and keep the thread focused on practical advice to quit and so forth .thanks .

I don’t have any smoking-specific advice since I’m not a smoker. But I’d say first, your intention to stop smoking must be really strong. Then you use whatever method/tricks seem best for you, and try to quit. I think it’s normal that you will fail quitting many times until you don’t and actually quit. This is good, though. Each time you fail, you will learn new things that trip you up, which you can then solve for.

I remember Leo saying somewhere that most people just don’t try things often enough. They lose hope after they try 2 or 3 times. The key is to keep going, and improve each time. At some point you’ll figure it out!

I see . If you might engage me for a sec ..why are cigarettes made of CO and tar ? It's literally written on every ciggies pack in the world "Tar is a cancer-inducing substance ". So why they put it in it ? Why not just nicotine and something that smells nice and euphoric and that's it ?

Because they're made from tobacco from a specific plant and that's just what is inside of that plant. Those plants contain nicotine but also a bunch of other stuff.

Do you recommend something specific?  Like a certain shape or brand of the vape ?

There is probably something different available in every country. All that really matters is that you can refill it with e-liquid of a low strength. Just find what's available in your country.

Comparing smoking to a gun is actually unfair on guns. Smoking kills 10x more people per year in the US than guns do.

are you sure about this information?  I can't conceive of a CO being extracted from a plant . It's a poisonous gas . You sure they don't manufacture this garbage in the factory ? But if that was true then why they add filters ? It's confusing man .

Osho is good but I consider him a radical or extreme spiritual teacher. I mean he was a pedophile in his youth do you know that?  He used to rape underage girls ..which is not to say he wasn't  awake..he definitely was but maybe he wasn't awake to anything regarding health and morality . Only to "Godhood".

You can't conceive of CO being a product from the combustion of a plant but you can conceive of CO2? CO is what happens when combustion of organic compounds happens without sufficient oxygen. CO2 is also a poisonous gas.

Well I'm not sure as I asked him are you sure about this information which clearly indicates that I myself are not sure .

I remember in science class that plants absorb CO2 and turn it into oxygen release oxygen to the environment.

Not sure how the tobacco plants that they make ciggies from contains  CO.

See the difference?

They use CO2 to make organic compounds (carbon-based compounds) for their bodies (it's their food), and when you burn them, you get some of that out again in the form of e.g. CO2 and CO.

But you are smoking tobacco, you care about what's in the smoke.
