Why Fasting Works

11 posts in this topic

Fasting works because it makes you hungry.

When you are hungry, you are not thinking about your problems.

You are HUNGRY!

I AM FUCKING HUNGRY!

I'd say the opposite. When you are not digesting your mind can go to higher places. When you go back to eating you'll notice the difference. At least that's my experience.

You can’t fast. Because when you do, your body starts eating itself. So you’re still eating!

Last night wz fucking writhing around in bed while dreaming of burgers. Finally feel ashleep

Thinking I will prolong this fast a couple more days. Benefits are placebo, idk. Seems legit to me.

Ahah that's not that false.

From a monist pov.

Nothing will prevent Willy.

Yea yea, monist pov, very good.

So there is some shenanigans transpiring in my life that is sensitive, private material best elaborated and disclosed elsewhere, another time.

My fast is going well. Hunger is gone. Lol.

Yesterday I was hungry. Very hungry. Ben is used to eating. Just like a pig.

But today hunger has revealed himself naked before me, as a hungry beast of fantasy land, a monster made of translucent dust.

Hunger not real, happiness good.

Simple.

Don't overthink it, folks.

Take it easy.

Have a good one,

No sweat, keep it pushing, and hang in there (by the very THREADS)!

:)

A rationalization that led to a bannana and an ungenerous portion of caged noodles led to the expectation of the impending preparation of a roast-beef–guacamole–chip extravaganza

Lol say goodbye to fasting

I'm back on the fasting train after relapsing last night.

Starting to develop an addiction to fasting ;)

Imagine that! An addiction to not eating food! Great!

At this point I am doing this only to challenge myself. I expect no benefit to come.

I am battling with such intense hunger. I'm not talking about pangs that last a duration of time. I have been hankering for a Popeyes chicken wrap/burger/pizza/fried chicken for HOURS!

Not eating is powerful because you have to face a lot of pain. I label it hunger, but it is really unresolved trauma. For I am not trult hungry, for I do not exist, and if I do, it's with more than enough pounds of fat to sustain my survival without eating for a couple days.

xD

Seriously though, I've found the practice largely beneficial - though not without its share of anxiety and frustration. I'd recommend giving it a try. It forces you to confront discomfort and override one of your most primal urges. You might even experience a sense of spontaneity and lightness - sometimes even ecstasy. I'm not talking about extremely long periods without food, btw. I haven’t done fasts longer than 24 hours. This isn't medical advice.

I used to fast regularly, You'll be surprised how much time you spend on eating and making food. Fasting days are a great day to focus on a less active interests and contemplation. It's quiet freeing in a sense to fast and your energy levels don't suffer too much when fasting in my experience. I once climbed a mountain while fasting though I did feel lethargic doing it admittedly.

You also save a bit of food and money when you don't eat. That's why really poor people fast a lot.

I am getting back into it.

Pretty much the only effective

(and kinda easy)

way for me to lose fat.

I love it I think it is great for you and yeah I feel more effective and efficient like I am just focused on the things I need to get done.

Obviously if you're not used to it, it's hard as food is all your mind thinks about.
