Also, I’ve tried to see it from the other side, but am I really wrong for saying these deportations are literally unconstitutional? Regardless of emotional feelings, isn’t that just an objective fact? Or the fact that the vast majority of the protests have been peaceful? Or that Donald Trump led an insurrection? Again, ignoring personal bias, are any of those things false?

I’m really not sure what it is you’re trying to teach me. If you’re saying I need to take a grounded, more realistic approach to politics, I’ve tried that, I’ve genuinely tried to see the case for harsh enforcement, deploying troops etc, but it’s genuinely been hard to come to any other conclusion than this is just massive right-wing overreach, even when taking everything into consideration, and especially when considering the hypocrisy of who’s committing them.

And isn’t there also the case of defending individual rights, no matter what? Even if 99.99999% of the people detained are the worst criminals on earth (which isn’t true but let’s say it is), if even just one person was a law-abiding citizen or, hell, even a long term resident who just doesn’t have documentation, isn’t that an injustice to that person personally and their family? It’s easy to take a big picture perspective of all these, but does that really justify ignoring the personal, human cost of all these? Do individual humans count for nothing, or are we all just mere pawns in a game played by much bigger forces none of us can comprehend?

There is a million better ways I could design to do what you are describing, but the people in charge are foolish just interested in headlines over results. From steady tightening of controls or entry rights to overt fear at the border, to a reduction of rights for new immigrants in ways that people moan about (job preferences)

For example, fear at the border, is less disruptive because its not in the cities, schools, shops, graduation courtrooms (pre sentencing) etc. This is just disruptive and dumb. It's going to lead to violence against the people doing it, and not just in the streets. These are families being torn apart and everyday lives.

You can not paper over that even in a day or week of fear. Or eliminate that anger in a month or a year. It'd take suppression for a decade, more given how racially mixed America is. So all that can be achieved here is a destabilizing of society, because American society is mixed race not solely white.

As always humanity does too much rather than do things gradually; duality is so stupid in design.

But yeah, if leftists keep destroying property and breaking laws there will be real bullets. Another reason to not be a foolish leftist.

Save your rioting for when Trump actually breaks laws. Don't give Trump silly reasons to declare martial law. Police are allowed to enforce immigration laws. This is not something to riot over.

As much as I say morals are subjective, laws don't trump basic core morality, like simple obvious things. Right to protest etc. Like not breaking up families and arresting people at schools and stuff. I'd be out there too. That's worth fighting for.

Of course, the police are supposed to enforce immigration laws, but what Trump is doing is totally unconstitutional. 

I pray that maybe this cause a major backlash on him and his party one day. 

Then again, maybe we are getting closer to some kind of real war.

According to all available studies, migrants, whether legal or illegal, commit fewer crimes than locals and work hard.
