Personality types most likely to be spiritual

42 posts in this topic

Very interesting insights while I was contemplating with chatgt 4o. I asked it which personality types are most likely to follow philosophical, theological, or spiritual questions and how these personality types differ in their exploration on the subject - When I saw INTP – “The Metaphysical Analyst” which describes Leos teaching very well I think I felt like this was worthy to share.:

🧠💫 Most Spiritually/Philosophically Inclined Types:

1. INFP – “The Inner Seeker”

Why they’re drawn: Deep need for personal meaning, moral truth, and emotional authenticity

Style: Poetic, mystical, emotionally guided

Themes: Goodness, suffering, soul, purpose

Typical path: Journaling, poetry, ethics, mysticism, personal spiritual practice

Wants to feel God or truth — not just define it.

2. INFJ – “The Visionary Mystic”

Why they’re drawn: Seeks deep symbolic understanding of the world and human nature

Style: Structured, symbolic, often influenced by psychology or archetypes

Themes: Unity, transcendence, morality, collective soul

Typical path: Jungian thought, mysticism, spiritual systems, religious studies

Sees God in patterns, symbols, and inner transformation.

3. INTP – “The Metaphysical Analyst”

Why they’re drawn: Fascinated by existence itself, truth, and logic

Style: Abstract, skeptical, curious

Themes: Ontology, consciousness, paradox, epistemology

Typical path: Reading dense philosophy, theoretical theology, questioning belief systems

Wants to understand God or truth — not necessarily believe in it.

4. INTJ – “The Rational Mystic”

Why they’re drawn: Needs a coherent worldview, order in chaos, ultimate structure

Style: Strategic, abstract, system-building

Themes: Destiny, cosmology, ethics-as-system, spirituality-as-strategy

Typical path: Structured theology, Stoicism, existentialism, sacred geometry, systems-based spirituality

SO true :x

Also, it's interesting that the list is composed of only introverts.

I am INFP as well. While I very much appreciate Leos excellence in his work and find it interesting and important it was always missing some of the juice, some poetry for me. This resonates very much with what I was thinking as well.

Chatgpt says INFP are by far the most likely to be interested in these subjects. Which of these personalitiy are most likely to ACTUALLY realize god and not just a New Age fantasy is another question though.

Which version?

We should make it common practice to reference exactly what AI we're using.

When I look at the description Jordan Peterson matches the INFJ type PERFECTLY!

I like to think that I'm an INFP that learned to pretend like I'm an INTP. But my favorite subject in school since I was little is natural sciences, I specialized in physics and chemistry in high school, took a year of biology in university, and now I'm finishing a graduate degree in neuroscience (/psychology). I thought about studying chemistry at one point, then philosophy. If we trust ChatGPT, I should be INTP, no? But if you ask me what I would like to use my degree for, you would only think I'm INFP.

Of course, on top of things not being black and white, people will have endless debates about how MBTI should be interpreted, and true MBTI geeks will truly arrest you any time you try to make some argument that is not grounded in cognitive functions (e.g Fi, Ti, Fi, Fe, etc.). Some old legend insisted I was an ENFP, not INFP (because I cite science and theories and statistics a lot, which is supposedly Te, and ENFP has tertiary Te).

I dont like that it takes so long to answer and the short time I used it it didnt feel like the quality improved that much. I asked o3 as well and the answer was very similiar.

You can't wait two minutes for some god damn freaking knowledge (allegedly) to be dropped on your head? Zoomers are cooked.

I remember my college class (I was not there; the only time I was not there lol) one time got raged at by our professor because somebody asked some really zoomer question I can't remember and that criticized the professor and he was like "you are so spoiled, we had to go to the library to find our sources" or something.

Yeah its all mixed of course and many people find different types fitting to them to varying degrees. You even sound extroverted to me right now haha.

I am super extroverted when communicating with alien intelligence.

More introverted when I am with mankind.

I used to think I was introverted, but then I met this one girl (or two tbh) who literally do not talk unless spoken to (essentially). And I used to be like that, but that was largely because I was severely neurotic (which both these girls are btw — prone to negative emotion). And that's interesting, because extroversion tends to be associated with positive emotion, so if you are very neurotic, you can come off as not extroverted. So even Big 5, despite trying, does not have these perfectly neat non-overlapping categories. But on the other hand, you could also imagine a highly neurotic extrovert who can't stop talking about how negatively they feel. So a combination of traits can lead to many different outcomes depending on the degree and also preferred/learned coping mechanisms.

I imagine that The 6th Sense operates in a completely different way.

HA - INFJ so this applies to me

But I did one of the official paid for tests (during high school, so it wasn't paid for by me)

Sort of accurate as I am quite fixated on unity and the collective consciousness.

I have been so fixated on the existential questions, that I did struggle to get on with the cotidian nature of material reality and needs for decades.

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Else, the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.

That’s fascinating, because when I imagine concrete construction it is as physical as it gets.

Or perhaps it’s the hard knock life 😅

physical as in concrete material
