Physics and Consciousness

11 posts in this topic

Im too dumb to understand how these two come together, or what it even means. but maybe just putting it out there we can begin to understand, as well as how time comes into the equation, cause to me im already confused about how we got to this point, and id need someone whos into physics to explain how time is represented. This is just a video on consciousness, and im sure its been brought up before, but i either missed it, or i wasnt up on physics back then (im still not) so lets start with this video and work our way up or down, or both.

Its saying without qualia of experience we would be doing the same thing. So you didn't marry your wife cause you love her you married your wife cause the universe did it mechanically. Ie conciousness isnt coming from reality its in another dimension reacting.

im thinking about the shutdown process. cause like, w/ consciousness you have the choice, like you can choose between how complex the dependencies are as they converge towards the act of shutting down, as thats like, as single-users (unless we get together in a death party somehow, or we imagined we are..) we just want the most processes shutting down, and as fast as possible. thats like normal runit init, but if for some reason you want to manage them dependencies then you want something that is then considering them. and then theres the fact like, say for instance all of us are like 80 years old and we all get together in a giant multi-user party, and that is another layer to it, where we are all informing each other of like, what all to lookout for as we are coming down from our trip, etc. and its like, we can make it simple on us by recognizing it as a kindve system in that way, atleast logically. but if for some reason we are all trippin out like crazy, and we can no longer keep track of up and down, then that is a kindve segment of the pi chart thats like hard to navigate, either as the crazy person, or observing said crazy person. iuno basically its like, im tryina say that it can have this understanding, such that it doesnt seem like a conflict, where u are like, "wait, how do those binary shutdowns happen to state and profile", instead its like, "oh, theyre happening,... and its like, our input on that is like, *consciousness gave us the choice on which program we were running*. Does that make sense?

### Time as everything

Has anyone in physics ever framed things or described it like this: Everything is time, and everything else is couched—or is like sub components of time. So its like a hierarchy of what it is, *it* being time, and everything else being just like, the consequences of indifference kinda?.. like... Its=Time having gone on a seriously fucked up trip Or am i not even saying anything by phrasing it like that. I like it cause then the idea is about an imaginary unit/gensu called time, and no longer an imaginary unit called space and particles and such... i know theres already something like that, that makes time a priority, but iuno what the names of all the quantum theory this & thats are... also, it gives more legs to the underlying waves, because then they are like, excitations that happen due to a priori

The physicalist arguments are weak and just don’t stand up to scrutiny.   They can’t explain how a collection of unconscious billiard balls (or any other particle) can interact to magically create conscious experience.  As for his observation that the organism would be doing the same thing without qualia, Advaita Vedanta has been saying this for over a thousand years, i.e. “you are not the doer”.  Barnardo Kastrup has done a good job of demolishing all of their arguments.

Im thinkin of doin a thread on death—like the ancient egyptian belief on death, but iuno if like... like when they have references to say the sky/light, thats usually not pointing to a gate or door to get past is it, i dont think. or is there? isnt there people with bird heads and angel wings, or na. or like im tryina make a connection to the sortve gate you reach where you see a white light that feels disturbing (its not prolly disturbing to older folk since they are in like, actual passing away places) and the sortve ancient beliefs that all have the ideas of having to go through these puzzles to reach it. but iuno if it really is just telling more of a story, than it is like, navigating the feeling, but maybe it is who knows

If the universe were just a blind mechanism without consciousness, pain and pleasure would have no reason to exist at all.
It’s absurd that reductionists still believe pain is just an illusion.
In a purely mechanical universe, there would be no need for feeling — no place for it.
No machine requires agony or joy to function.
To think that pain 'just appears' as some meaningless extra is not only stupid; it’s a betrayal of the very experience that proves we are alive.
