If you have spiritual aspirations, trying abstinence for up to a month or so can bring a lot of benefits.

In what ways?

If your watching too much porn, the deeper issue is likely too much free time and a lack of solid goals. Aimless people turn into bad people as they default to the path of no resistance.

It's an emotional regulation mechanism, an ingraned coping strategy.

That's why it's unhealthy and very addictive.

It's not a function of having a free time. Doesn't take too much time to be honest.

Energy rises upwards, like in the video.

The internet has twisted something completely natural into a moral panic. It's crazy. Btw gaming is much more problematic as a form of coping strategy. Much more normalized and available.

If you have solid goals you got better things to do than jerk off all day. I've read somewhere that people who identify with nofap are at an above average risk of depression. Take into account that most nofapers are also Redditors, which is the worst social media platform in terms of mental health outcomes. It is conformist brainrot that makes failure the goal for sick people.

What's completely natural? Jerking off to porn?

What do you think this is?

The distinction that lust is inherently bad is a Christian concept. It's an invention.

Gaming is better than porn though, at least it has deep stories, meaning, puzzles, symbolism, philosophy, the author or creator is offering you his perspective on reality, which you can learn a ton from. A Porn user is just an animal horny to release tension from his body -- when consuming porn you are like a dog, or worst. With the ammount of crazy stuff nowdays, I would say porn users are below animals on average.

Don't you see a difference between jerking off to a boob statue vs having access to tens of thousands of hd porn (from vanilla to all the disgusting fetish stuff) videos that people get addicted from teenage years and ruin their sex lives?

Nobody is saying that lust is inherently bad. Lust is an important aspect of survival.

In the end it's a problem of a lack of self-control and self-responsibility. But saying that watching porn is normal makes that problem harder for those people to overcome.

Our ancestors also had food, but not triple MC cheesburgers and fries.
