@Emerald I think you are like the third person to make this personally about me, but I’ll answer your question. I want someone who is emotional invested in my survival and well-being. Do I believe I can get that? Not really. 
 

I am curious about the macro dynamics of dating though, since none of my friends excluding one is happy with their results in romance. 
 

If this was an economic discussion, no one would be trying to pry into my psyche, it’s kinda annoying.

Depends on where you're looking. I don't mean married men are plenty but lots of men are having hook-ups and getting laid. Even if it's one-night stands. It's not hard to find someone; it only gets hard when it's of a certain pick. Anybody can get laid, but maybe not who they want to get laid by and relationships are a bit harder to sustain these days because of what people are looking for.

Yes, my assumption was that you're asking out of more than just curiosity. 

And it's a reasonable assumption to make, because people tend to seek knowledge to get information that's relevant to them and their lives. 

Dating conversations usually aren't approached from zoomed out macrocosmic points of view like political topics are. And even if they are framed that way, it tends to be related to things the person is struggling with in their personal life.

So usually, people go seeking this insights to help them navigate their own dating life.

So, I was asking so that I can tailor my answer to what you want.

Ultimately, what you want is out there. But it's difficult because a lot of people (especially young people) are more focused towards sexual/romantic excitement rather than a sustainable familial relationship.

But beyond that, we also aren't taught how to sustain relationships. Before, people used to have survival needs and authoritarian laws and rules to keep everyone smooshed together in a codependent stew.

But now, we must learn how to sustain relationships in a healthier and wiser way that is more bottom up. And we're in the baby phases of that. And most people suck at it.

That said, what you're seeking is out there. You can find it if you have a discerning eye for who is compatible to you.

I went out last week and I saw see very good looking couples. I looked down and away wondering what that is like to hold a woman's hand. I see women desiring men, I am aware of it but it has never happened to me so it's like looking into the window of a family having dinner, while you're starving outside.

My male friends do very well with women, they have had all the sex and are now looking to settle down. I think I passed a threshold where it is possible that I will always be unfulfilled in this area, I do not know if I can recover my self esteem. 

Hypnotherapy sounds interesting, I will have to research that. I was born with a birth injury and spent much of my childhood in and out of a children's hospital, someone told me that may be responsible for a deep trauma around the feminine.

When you say I am subconsciously wanting it that way, I can't disagree something is broken in me maybe that's why the girls in school who predicted I would die alone said what they said. 

I am actually living healthily despite my pessimism. If my depression is a wave, it is very subdued at the moment. I have not watched any porn or masturbated this month, I walk 10,000 steps almost every day, socializing etc

How do you call forth something different? When I read about manifesting, there is often the assumption that you have manifested the things you want before and you just need to remember that. How do you manifest something which you have not even come close to experiencing?

By speaking differently. By changing your beliefs. There is a version of you right now in a parallel universe living the life you want and desire. There are no reincarnations only parallel lives because time and space does not really exists and everything is happening all at once. You just have to tap into that frequency. Go check out the YT channel "Nero Knowledge". He explains this stuff real well and pretty simply. His knowledge about how the Universe works is quite astounding. He has a lot of videos so sift through the ones that seem interesting to you. They all are to me. You just have to get over his appearance and his use of the n word in his videos. His videos are not like most of the other manifesting videos and he knows what he's talking about.

See this, another guy in another thread here says his male friends are doing bad and are not doing well in their relationships and now he believes most men are having problems in relationships. We just had this discussion in that thread. It's all a matter of perception and what we are exposed to that forms our beliefs which are all lies but only true for us. Now we think the majority of the world is like how we see it. That's what the brain does. It's programmed so we see the world as we are not how it actually is.

That's not what the essence of what I'm saying is. You're concentrating on the outside world. Yes, those are the stats. What I'm saying is if those people had different beliefs and started vibrating on a certain frequency, they wouldn't be experiencing that. I'm also saying there are also happily married people also. Just because you're seeing stats and what is apparently happening doesn't mean that's how the world actually is. One can start to experience a happy life if they really knew how and those that are, even if not consciously so are vibrating at a certain level than those who are not. It's only an appearance. You are going off of a bunch of heresay and statistics, And even personal experience, doesn't mean that's how the world actually is.
