  1. @lina I think the time is now to convince people not to go into murderous rage in the name of justice. There are reports of killings around the world because of the heat of this conflict. There might also be some humanitarian organizations that can take finantial contributions. Other than that it is up to the world powers to push or not against Israel.
  2. I think helping people you interact with against going into murderous frenzy is pretty good approach. It's really jaw-dropping seeing people how quickly they can turn into murderous devils when they are witnessing great injustice. Helping them understand the fact that we would do the same in their shoes, whether it is Hamas or Israel. We are not much more different than them. We are as much capable of these evils as them. We are just lucky we are not in their situation. Only when we realize this about ourselves we might be able to stop it when it is our turn to decide to tilt the world towards evil or good.
  3. Well Leo's whole "I just know better than anyone" act can be pretty annoying to listen to. He can only blame himself for showing no grace or humility whatsoever. But he is succesful and has a decent following so I doubt he would rush to self-reflect in this regard. Until that happens he will always be regarded by the larger society as an arrogant ego-maniac.
  4. @cannedsoup I would call an experiece mystical if it reaveals something speacial and deep about reality that I have yet not even considered before and is, in consequence, life transforming. Do you think this definition applies here? What do you imagine under the words "mystical experiences"? What would you want a mystical experience to be?
  5. @Sam Barker I would recommend learning yoga from teachers from Isha foundation. They have teachers around the world so it's not hard to find them. That is if you are interested in hatha yoga. I have been doing their practices for about two years now almost every day and I am really satisfied with the results. I feel really fit in my daily life. That is if I am doing the practices consistently. If I miss out for about a few days the difference in my wellbeing is noticeable. I would recommend learning from experienced teachers that will teach you a whole set you can practice. I would avoid attending weekly classes of yoga since it's too expensive in the long run and they don't really teach you sets you can practice alone so you keep coming back. It is also very limiting timewise. I would also recommend learning from a teacher rather than from YouTube. When you are copying someone and you make mistakes (believe me you will make mistakes) there will be no one to correct you. This can have detrimental effects on your health in its extremes. You can really mess up your back and neck from bad yoga practice. Quality of the teaching is very important and I don't think it is advisable to try to figure it out by your self. Before hatha yoga I tried doing kriya yoga but I couldn't really do it consistently since you use only your mind and don't move at all so you won't get fit. I have a very passive life already so I could feel the practices weren't really healthy for me physically. Now after a few years I am staring out with kriya yoga again along with hatha yoga and I don't have many problems with it so far. It is much easier when the body is in shape thanks to hatha yoga. So if you are picking up on yoga to create well-being I would really recommend hatha yoga first from teachers that learned it from masters and not from fitness studio workshops so that it is as original as it can get. But that is my humble opinion. You might find some other way that suits you. EDIT: I wanted to add a link to all teachers from Isha. Sorry if it seems like an ad I just have a good experience with them (well only one of them, I didn't really need to find anyone else) and I consider Sadghuru as a good source of original Hatha yoga. https://www.ishayoga.org/hata/teachertraining/teacher-finder/
  6. There is no reason to hate the ego it doesn't even exists. Wait that's the ego talking scratch that. Also I love my ego it got me into spirituality.
  7. @VerballyHazardous The problem with any explanation regarding god is that you will always be wrong and right at the same time no matter how ingenious your definition is. You will always leave out some aspect of it. You just can't describe god in it's entirety. That means there will always be people in the world that won't like your understanding of it and will gladly argue with you for ages how much wrong you are. In this forum we have a very specific vocabulary to talk about spirituality that is in many ways different from other groups around the world and they too face the same situation. So that means when people here talk about spirituality in this forum specific way we understand what they are pointing at because we have similar backrounds. When people from outside speak about spirituality we might think they are pointing in the wrong direction even though they point at the same thing just in a different way. They just have different vocabulary that is foreign to us. Now I understand the complexity of the understanding can vary a lot. But I believe it is more about individual efforts of people within the group rather than the teaching of the group itself. Your understanding of god can be just as complex regardless if you are christian, atheist, muslim of any other spiritual tradition. What matters is if you are true to your own understading.
  8. But he didn't give any reasons for that argument. He just said plain "No" every time he mentioned any argument for mind influencing quantum mechanics. Then he said he will talk about other interpretations in different video. He criticised people that side with mind interpretation arguments for quantum mechanics that they jump too quickly into conclusions but he himself does that when he dismisses them. It's the typical approach of scientifically minded people to anything related to mysticism. To me it seems obvious that consciousness influences quantum mechanics since there is nothing but consciousness. But people just believe consciousness is created in the brain that exists in an objective world. And it's hard to argue againts objective world since it seems like there is one. But as always every argument for anything is manmade and doesn't reflect the truth fully and existence just does its own thing while being mystical as it always does.
  9. @Existence I used to have a hard time to think about the things I deemed important. It seemed so impossible to come up with good answers to my questions. It was very frustrating. I could not figure out why is it so hard. Then I realized that I was making myself miserable because I was too demanding of sophisticated answers. I compared my answers with the capability of people that I admire. It's like comparing yourself with Schwarzenegger when you start going to the gym. The trick I believe is to use the mechanics of daydreming. That is a state when you half control and half let manifest what you are thinking about. Because when you are thinking about comlex stuff you DO have answers. They are just not very sophisticated but that doesn't matter. You use the answers to futher deepen the inquiry. And if you use the rule 10 000 hours to mastery you get better and better at formulating your thoughts. Again don't have too high demands of your capability. You compare yourself to masters you listened to. You never cared about formulating sophisticated answers before. You have to learn the mechanics and creativity needed to do that.
  10. @Aeris Hard to say when you are tripping balls and spirits start to talk to you. Denying it in that moment is like denying the existance of pain . Sure you can say it's hallucination but I think that is just simplifying the truth for convenience. Better to say it can happen to a person but we don't understand it at all. No rules we are familiar with apply to it so we are sonfused by it. Don't get me wrong the denial of it is a better option than jumping into wrong conclusions of what it really is. Everybody that encounters this has to do a deep inquiry of what this phenomena really means and be honest with themself that they don't ultimately really know. It really can be just a hallucination and deluson. People are in the business of making conclusions. We are really antsy if we can't. But that is just part of life. Our chance of really understanding the world are the same as the chances of an ant understanding the world.
  11. It's boring to have conversations with people that are so rigid in their stance they don't even let any idea to take shape. It's so lifeless one way communication. Just preaching and no learning. I am not conscious of being a god. But I know how it feels to have the answer. But eventually you come down from the high and all you are left with are memories of it but that's it. A fully awake person woudn't need to take psychedelics to wake up again. It's obvious there is something behind the scenes we are not aware of. Why else would you need to take psychedelics over and over again if you are fully awake?
  12. @Leo Gura Can't the denial of god be a matter of terminology? Perhaps one can have an opinion that the absolute is far too tricky to give it a name because it will inevitably create a duality. When we talk about god we do it from a lense of a christian backround because when we grew up we saw around us the christian symbolic representation of god and now the word god rings the bell of that imagery. I say this because calling the absolute a god encompasses a lot of aspects of the absute BUT perhaps some aspects of the absolute are better represented in different forms especially if you want to explore different dimentions of life. Everybody needs their own set of concepts because of their biology, culture and life endeavours. If we play the game of "my thing is better than yours" we are forgetting how diverse the absolute can be.
  13. Don't forget to look for balance. At one hand you need to be integrated well in society because otherwise you won't have any economic value to it and it will be hard to get by just to survive. On the other hand society will try to suck out all of your individuality and creativity so you become this well behaved bee worker that is destined to just fulfill his employer own dreams. The good news is that if you know what your own values and passions are you can work to incorporate them into your life and you will have a fulfilling life. So do you know your own values? Do you live up to them? What does it mean to live up to them?
  14. @kieranperez I don't know if he is a messiah or not but he sure makes great in depth analysis of various disney movies (except frozen he hates that one)
  15. Well you can't really blame him. He doesn't have the experience so how could he recommend it? But problem with teachers is that they just have to have an opinion they can't say I don't know. As for the distraction part I think any spiritual practise can be a distraction and again the teacher thinks his way is the better one. Psychedelics can at least help you see through this kind of bullshit.
  16. @Swagala Great work! Remember to properly integrate these experiences @molosku Don't underestimate weed. I had mystical experiences with weed that were on a similar level as LSD trips. In some aspects they were even deeper. It's just that not so many people used weed for spiritual awakenings that much so its hugely underestimated
  17. @ethanb121 I don't have anything more to say than I alredy did. Try the meditation with focus on the pressure while high for longer periods of time and see what it does to you. But as I said don't take it lightly. If possible aim for peace of mind over anything else. Don't push yourself too much with these things. It's not always rainbows and butterflies. That goes for any psychedelic use.
  18. @ethanb121 I have some experiece that might be of some use. I don't know much about the third eye except for my personal experience working with focus. I used to experiment with weed and meditation at the same time with surprising results. I would smoke and then focus on the pressure in my forehead. This pressure would intensify and/or transofrm and I would "follow" it and after about half an hour my perception changed quite considerably. All sorts of insights poured into my mind. My thoughts started to create complex structures that were comprehensible yet so alien. And when I say complex I mean "holy shit this changes everything I know" complex. It was quite something. It felt so nostalgic. Like returning home from a long journey. I was quite impressed. The interesting thing is that it was repeatable process. Every time I tried to do it it worked with varied intensity. I didn't pursuit it further because I had some personal things to take care of at the time. Now the way I did it was quite unintuitive. When I focused on the pressure I had to make sure not to try to direct it, manipulate it or try to intensify the pressure by any means by myself. This would disrupt the procces. I had to specifically pay attention to the pressure instead trying to get something out of it. This was really important. The only way I would get there was by letting go of the need to be there. This is quite paradoxical and hard to transcend but it seems it is the requirement. I tried to repeat the procces without the weed but with no results. Weed itself has many drawbacks and is hard to work with in any spiritual proccess. So take this story of mine more like an interesting anecdote than something you inspire yourself with. The built up pressure in your forehead can be really disruptive if not handled properly. If you have no experience with releseing it it can really hinder your ability to function in everyday life. And lastly I don't know if my experience has anything to do with the third eye there are just similarities with the region in question.
  19. @ROOBIO Ego backlashes are a good reminder of what you are deling with and gives you a good appreciation of true mastery. I would suggest to practise self love a little bit. It's okay to enjoy the little things in life. It is a part of us that doesn't need to be eliminated completely. And anyway if you try to brute force through it with sheer will power alone you will crack and it will get you behind much much more than where you are now. And remember when you go back to bad habits you don't have to go all pathologic about it. You can enjoy some alcohol, sugar and other without having it control your entire life.
  20. @Odysseus Dammit shoud've said that most of the comments and not all to cover my ass. Anyway when I investigate the comments more it seems that most of it is praise of Peterson which might be problematic if he has indeed bad influence. Then there are comments that thank him for changing their lifes for the better which also can be problematic if it means they fight people on the left. I just wanted to point out that it is not as dire as people make it out to be. But now I have a feeling that I am just defending him for the sake of winning an argument so I will stop and just leave it at the fact that he indeed seems to atract some portion of the alt-right and whether he is a bad or good influence on them will be open for me.
  21. @Odysseus Are you sure about that? I would argue the opposite. Go into his official channel and look into the comments under his videos and tell me people there are anything less than open-minded and loving. If you are refering to videos with titles "Peterson crushes ... !!!" then yes you find more negative comments there. But is it really representative of his followers or does it just appeal to anyone who wants to see people being crushed regardless of the person in the title?
  22. @RendHeaven Yes! Once you have an enemy you inevitably get into a situation where your "enemy" has a good point in some manner and you have to practice quite sophisticated mental gymnastics to still frame him as a bad guy so you can retain your integrity. And that leaves you stuck ignorant and unconscious. But unfortunately it is just too convinient for people to have enemies. It is too good of a tool for survival. Peterson is very guilty of that. When I think about it I have a lot of enemies. And I don't really mean people but more exactly "wrong" ideas. I am all into the "raising your conciousness to higher level" (I can thank Leo for that) but it makes me view "unconsciousness" as threatening. I am sure it makes me ignorant in some manner because it is me who decides what is conscious. And what do I know really. This has real imlications in the real world because now when I see China getting to the economical cealing it makes me wonder if western leaders will take notes on how to oppress free ideas just like they do in China for the sake of economic growth. Sounds like a question "When should you levave your teacher behind because you became more developetd than him/her". That seems like a good topic for a video don't you think?
