  1. The way I recall memories 

    I'm almost certain before I didn't think very visually 

    But now whenever I think about things or past events I'm able experience those thoughts extremely visually.

    Actually , Sometimes this is scaring me a little because I never knew this is possible.

    I have a feeling this is being caused by meditation and psychedelics. I"Ve been meditating for awhile but the last few weeks I have been taking it seriously and also doing self-enquiry 

     

    Since, I've started doing self-enquiry i have had two strange experiences. Both times I opened my eyes, felt like i was having a slight panic attack. I remember before both those times I was searching  intensely for "I"

     

    are these experiences normal? Not sure if i should continue or not


  2. I've had a few experiences with ayahuasca and have been meditating now for a couple years. But, I have not done a meditation retreat before

     

    I'l soon  be attending a 10 day meditation retreat at the dharma..  I have the option to do a ayahuasca ceremony a few days before the retreat.

    I think doing the ayahuasca being the retreat will really open me up more, for better or worse

    Part of me is saying this is a great idea, going straight in to the knowledge and part of me thinks this could be too much

    ive been doing 20-30 minutes of do nothing meditation daily . 

    Ive recently startered doing concentration practice and noting and labelling meditation. 

    I do noting and labelling for 10 minutes after my do nothing meditation.  I've watched Leo's video but I still have a few questions 

    I do noting and labelling with my eyes closed. It's usually " feel " sensations that arises , my feet , feeling of my butt on chair those type of things. Sometimes I hear something   then I note and label them.  

    Is bad to note and label something again ? Example this morning when I was doing this I noted and labeled the sound of my aircon a few times and I noted , labeled the feel my butt on the chair a few times

    Use only one pillow to sit on for the meditation, otherwise you'll start building a castle to sit on and distract, there will be pain but just focus on the meditation instructions, that's the most important tip I can give.

    This is something I'm worried about , not sure if I can sit on the a pillow for long hours. During my daily meditation I always sit on a chair 


  5. I spent a few months working intensely on self inquiry using the Chan Buddhist way of self-inquiry using Huatou

     

    After a recent ayahuasca experience it showed me i need to learn how to LOVE more. Since that trip I have replaced my self-inquiry with loving kindness meditatio.

     

    This is also something i often read about in Buddhist / Hindu texts that you need to radiate love before you can get serious results with Self-inquiry.

     

    The reason i replaced self-inquiry with loving kindness is  i feel like right now it is more important for me than self-inquiry and also I limited time and willpower

    Currently daily i do

    20 minutes mindful

    20 minutes loving kindness

    5 minutes affirmations

    5 minutes visualization

     

    if i also do 10-20 minutes of self-inquiry my morning routine is too long
