  1. I took 3 tabs and it took me roughly 5 years to stop feeling the flashback-trips. They would usually pop up during meditation, which is what leads me to suspect that meditating kind of... smooths out the kinks that LSD leaves in the system. When those kinks get smoothed out, the LSD is freed and then passes through the system. Kind of like popping an LSD zit. That's been my experience :))
  2. "Briefly trespassed"? Why settle for being a visitor? It's somewhat expensive to have to constantly buy a ticket to greater understanding, isn't it? Why not take up permanent residence in the theme park?
  3. Then maybe it's time for you to move out? I don't know your age or life situation so I wont say that it's 100% the right move. That's up to you to decide. Just something to consider for yourself :))
  4. Not a projection! Just a recommendation. Perhaps you aren't doing it, but you understand that a lot of people do. I just want to give a gentle warning to anyone reading your post that thoughts like that are not constructive :)) Also, thank goodness you were joking ? Being seriously called an "enlightened being" is the last thing I want ??
  5. ? I don't like being called that. I'm just someone who managed to get out of his suffering. I'm not a superhero ?? If my words make sense to you, then I encourage you to try what I suggest for yourself and verify what I'm saying through your own experience. I don't want to be praised as an enlightened being and I don't want anyone to take my words as truth just because of their perception of me. I want what I say to stand on its own. Perhaps you're overvaluing my words because of your perception of me. Don't focus on the messenger, focus on the message and on figuring out whether its correct or incorrect. ??
  6. Actually, I don't recommend using someone else's bad situation to motivate yourself. The only suffering you know is your own. If you start comparing your suffering to your perception of others' suffering, it will only create beliefs and confusion in your mind. In your experience, the greatest suffering that has ever existed is your own. You simply haven't experienced anyone else's suffering. So focus on your own suffering for now and don't try to compare and say "I shouldn't be feeling this way because that other person has it so much worse", which is the thought that tends to arise from such a comparison :)) ?
  7. I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. I know I'm only an anonymous internet user, but I want you to know that I know how you feel in an absolute sense. Life did to you the same thing it did to me, it threw me onto the spiritual path whether I liked it or not. It did the same thing to Siddhartha Gautama. Sometimes it works that way, for better or worse. Sometimes, it turns out so much for the better that you look back and laugh at how trivial the badness was when compared to the better, as in my case and the Buddha's case :') . My only advice is to look at my AMA post and take the simple advice I offered there. Give your mind and body the best chance at navigating all of the struggles that have been thrown upon you. Maybe on the other side of your struggles lies everything you were ever hoping to find. Don't take my word for it, find out for yourself! :') ??
  8. Addiction has physical components and psychological components. Enlightenment will get rid of the psychological components because they're self created within the mind. Enlightenment gives you freedom from anything that is self created by the mind, anything that is only real within the mind. The physical components remain. But I will say this, when the psychological components are gone, handling the physical components becomes trivial. Like retraining a dog who's 100% ready to be retrained.
  9. Anything else though? A difference between the living conditions between your home and your friend's house? Maybe the difference is mental/emotional?
  10. Loving someone means accepting them as they are, no matter how ugly :)) If you're always prepared to help them when they're ready to receive your help, then there should be no guilt or hardship. In your love, you let them live how they see fit. And in your love, you're always ready to be there when they need you. <3
  11. I know how you feel. I've learned that no amount of energy or effort can change the fact that people will walk the path that they choose. If their chosen path crosses yours, then you may do what you can for them. If they choose a path that doesn't cross yours, there's nothing you can do for them, for better or for worse?
  12. Maybe it's an issue at home? If you live next to an airport then the noise from the airport could be disrupting your sleep, for example. Any possibility like that?
  13. Can you describe that feeling in more detail? I’m not sure what you’re referring to.
  14. Two people can take medicine. One needs motivation to take it because he doesn’t like the taste and doesn’t make the connection between the medicine and the benefits. The other happily takes it because he knows the bad taste is a small price to pay for the amazing benefits. I’m not saying that you should believe that meditation has amazing benefits and therefore you’re being a faulty human for not doing it. I’m saying that you should answer that question for yourself. If you realize that meditation is worth doing, you won’t need motivation. Again, I’m not saying that meditation is definitely worth doing. I’m just suggesting that perhaps you haven’t answered that question for yourself adequately? I’ll ask the question: is meditation worth doing? If you have any doubts then I recommend you explore those doubts. I’m telling you to experiment with yourself. I don’t think you’ve given enough attention to whether meditation is actually worth doing. My guess is that you’ve just been doing it because enough people told you it’s worth doing. You haven’t answered the question for yourself :)) Some people can simply do something just because someone (Like a guru) told them. Some people are skeptics (which is totally fine), and need to be proven something’s worth before they commit. I invite you to find out for yourself whether meditation is useful. Maybe you realize it isn’t and you stop doing it! I’m not saying any of this anticipating an outcome for you :))
