I restrict myself. I don’t count that as suppressing. I know it’s best to stay quite because not doing so will not do me and others any good.

No spoilers this time huh.. Guess I’ll have to see for myself

@Michal__ Learning about past philosophers isn’t exactly history of philosophy. I get what you mean though.

Sure, but it’d make sense to still put it under philosophy.

Philosophy and self help, I’d say. Both of which often intersect.

Right but I’d imagine his main thing being related to what he’s studied through university since it’s usually where you go most in depth. I guess it doesn’t always have to be that way and he’s an example.

Math and counseling psychology? How’d he become an expert on social philosophy or whatever. Not to say that he’s wrong but just wondering.

What if the Nazi invoked 13/50 or something? Would he have started a debating him right there and then? Feels weird.

This is just some speculation though, right?
The sports car needs different fuel because it’s different on a material level. Something like LOC having an influence on what kind of fuel/environment required feels absurd.

I think one shouldn’t obsess over the distinction in general. Wheat from chaff.

Models of development i.e. Maslows hierarchy, Spiral dynamics, Sussan Cook’s model etc. are helpful for clearing at least some of the confusion.

There's no way he actually drinks a Litre of cherry coke daily. I mean, c'mon..

Question is always how do they know? And how can we know what they know?

Substitute spirituality with something like stoicism

@VictorB02 No, it was just lame imo
Forgettable by the fact that I don’t remember the story or the characters

Skipping to 27:27 and hearing him say it completely out of context is hilarious ngl

See Cal Newport’s work.
He takes insights and strategies from the highest achieving individuals, so I think it’s worthwhile.

Why not approach it with a tough love kind of frame? I think it could work if all else has failed.
Tell him that he is being a pathetic looser but also allude to the possibility of change and success. I’m just throwing this out there, I could be wayy off so yea..
