if anything hurts your body from outside like the way you pose, your hunger, external temperature have a direct impact on the quality of your meditation! practice whatever position suits you, that'd be illogical to be in lotus and constantly thinking about the pain and numbness of your legs! there are various kinds of meditation: walking, lying, lotus, etc...

I've felt the same towards my dad too. that can be the case for the sons who were relatively younger and crude when they were thinking their dad knew about everything and when they grow up and develop cognitively, there could be a few rude awakening to the fact that their dad was completely clueless in major aspects of life when he was seemingly knowledgeable back then. the direct communication can be better but not all the times. indirect communication is almost in all cases better! I mean showing the ways of life indirectly. do your best but remember if he doesn't change don't force him and don't waste your energy by trying to resist his characteristics and let go and focus on yourself instead.

you can learn writing anything by yourself! writing novel, academic article, blog post, IELTS/TOEFL writing, copywriting, ( ghostwriting :))) why would you even bother getting that degree? especially we're in the era of ever-growing technological development and you can buy any course and information are at your fingertips! so I suggest you to pick something which is more passion-able and practical for ya!

you can't easily compare and contrast these two things together! cognitively superior in which terms? mathematics? chemistry? solving problems? social? or finances? which one? we could even imagine a scenario which a stage blue person can gain upper hand on a stage green person in every day mundane life activities. but all in all, we could say that stage green person has more open-mindedness than the others below him/her who could break out and think outside the mind/intellectual boxes.
