Who is choosing thoughts? Who is choosing to direct them? Who is choosing to act? Can you find any chooser at all? Where is the intermediary between thought and action? Between body and mind? Lets say Trump has a thought: Im going to build a wall -> his body will react to this either with a positive or negative emotion which he will act on, if the emotion is positive he will most likely act, if its negative he wont, is there a choice in that? Trump is just an example btw, I could have said anyone, just an easy example

Enlightenment might be secondary, it depends on if you have your basics handled, if youre an alcoholic living in your moms basement without a job then obviously Enlightenment is not your priority. Then again... if youre working as a boss in an office overtime and then taking care of your kids then you dont even have time for Enlightenment work.
