Why is some people so insensible about other living beings suffering and pain?

Today I saw the news of a farm owner who left his animals to die for not giving them enough food and water( even though he could have fed them). This left me extremely sad.

@Tudo Some people are genetically designed this way, to be predators. They literally cannot feel any kind of empathy. It sucks to be them, you don't want that.
