How do I inoculate myself against relying on others for answers and solutions?

Plant medicines, meditation, journaling, memento mori, asking questions, reading, creating.
Wait to ask questions from others, only when you feel it is exactly the right time to get the message.

I rode a grey horse, a mule roany mare
Grey mane and grey tail, a green stripe down her back
Grey mane and grey tail, a green stripe down her back
There wasn't a hair on her

Be-what was coal black
She stood so still, she threw me to the dirt
She bruised my heart and bruised my shirt
From stirrup to saddle I mounted again

And on my ten toes I rode over the plain
In Nottamun town, not a soul would look up
Not a soul would look up, not a soul would look down
Not a soul would look up, not a soul would look down

To show me the way
To Nottamun town

Met the King and the Queen and a company more
A-marching behind and a-marching before
Came a stark-naked drummer a-beating a drum
With his hands in his pocket come marching along

To Nottamun town
In Nottamun town

Not a soul would look up, not a soul would look down
Not a soul would look up, not a soul would look down
To show me the way
To Nottamun town

Leaning deeper into those practices, good advice.

That's quite a song, and that picture is spectacular. Thank you :)

You need to read more books so you will know the answers directly when people ask.

That's still  relying on others for answers and solutions.

@Realms of Wonder no worries thank you for responding. Ugh work. Thats the place newbies usually get picked on   : /

Living alone can be nice. I feel these days we're overconnected with people, and feel like its hard to escape peoples influence.

Totally agree man. We gotta figure out what works for ourselves and protect ourselves from people who are constantly trying to put their truths in our mouths

Can you tell I am a Newbie from the way I talk?

Absolutely! its quite a journey, finding an inner balance to it, between external truth, and our own Truth.

Develop proper epistemology. Like, a set of criteria that you can put other people's ideas against.

First figure out what you 100% know to be true and certain, and then figure out how and why you know it is true. Then apply those characteristics to what other people claim to be true.

Relying on someone else's advice is not necessarily a bad thing depending on how far you take it. It's not always bad to use other people's advice.

"God is not a conclusion, it is a sudden revelation. When you see a rose it is not that you go through a logical solipsism, "This is a rose, and roses are beautiful, so this must be beautiful." The moment you see it, the head stops spinning thoughts. On the contrary, your heart starts beating faster. It is something totally different from the idea of truth." -Osho

Wow then you have to rely on yourself for answers and solutions! Why not meditate?
