The metroplex includes the population around the city that the big city still serves.

For example all the people who live 10 miles out of a city who want to go on a night out should also be included in population estimate for something like pickup since they'll all commute into the big city for it

@John Paul if you have purpose to move somewhere to find a certain community to share your passion with, why consider moving somewhere for the sole purpose of pick up? compared to the quality you gain through meeting likeminded people why would you give that chance up for one night stands? why would you trade jazz for anonymity? it’s sad that cities like new york probably will have less and less artists because of high rents. the big cities all get renovated to death, already in their final breath because of the mainstream thinking they copy the originals better than the originals do themselves.

better picking up jazz than picking up pick up.

Having said that I agree that moving to a place solely for pickup is bad, you want to choose a place that has all round good qualities. Great nightlife, decent population, good prices, good people.

yeah and I wonder about the kind of way of superior man/coach Corey Wayne idea like if you just pursue your purpose in as hungry a way as Leo talks about pickup then you will also be forced to be socially calibrated and not place high value on pleasure:outcome in order to become a professional and the value and strength you gain through that get you at least one hot well rounded woman (same result at end of pickup?)

its not all solved with pick up, pickup is if anything a collection of techniques, like weapons sometimes in the wrong hands def not what was originally intended with it. its not a lifestyle. if you separate it from the rest especially try to make such an exclusive thing of it you will not solve your issues and most def it will not make you happy to move to a city just for the pick up factor, it doesn’t automatically make the success rate rise.

self actualization is not a guys exclusive.

I agree. I don't like calling it pickup, there are many bad connotations. Viewing it as learning to socialise, attract girls and develop your masculinity is a healthier frame.

And of course a guy should absolutely have other things going on in their life besides trying to attract girls, and should not move to a city solely for picking up girls. We agree on that.

My only remaining question to you then is: What is the alternative to something like pickup?

Should the guys who can't attract girls just accept their fait and rot away in their own loneliness?

no of course not. general self actualization can help a lot to begin with, actually socializing with girls without necessarily expecting outcomes is a good start. one of the main problems in that aspect is that preconceptions can only hold against the reality check as long as the distance is somehow kept. i don’t like how pua often depersonalizes and objectifies women. so we all talk about different stuff for lack of better wording.
