Supernatural doesn't mean "less rational". That is a dumb assumption.

Exactly my point.

Look here:

Psychic abilities are not what you think.

The materialist paradigm has a better chance at proving psychic phenomenon than any other paradigm. It's just not what you think, and most people won't like it, especially those spiritually-minded.

Telepathy is achieved by communication technologies; the entire infrastructure.

Precognition and clairvoyance are achieved through gathering and analysis of tremendous amounts of data, for example weather casts.

That's all magic. And if you can't see it, it's your failure.

And here:

The paranormal is not only possible. It's happening right here in front of you. You are using it right now to interact with minds without time or space limitations.

But apparently, that's not magical or supernatural enough for many people.

They overlook the supernatural because it's too abundant, and they close their eyes and look for it elsewhere.

Like fish in water, swimming in magic, unable too see.

Well then it is worth understanding what common sense is more. It is definitely tied up with survival intelligence.

And what about being so rational that you loose common sense? That's a real thing too.

There's no such thing as understanding common sense more in that sense, unless you're mentally retarded, common sense means it requires zero education, that's what common sense is: a person with zero education or studying, illiterate.

You guys are just repeating "common sense" how you've heard it used, as a thought-terminating cliche, explain what common sense means to you @Human Mint @Jirh

The global illiteracy rate for adults (aged 15 and over) is approximately 13%, meaning around 87% of the world’s population has at least basic reading and writing skills. This equates to roughly 773 million illiterate adults globally, with women disproportionately affected, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the total.

The remaining illiterate population is heavily concentrated in specific regions, primarily South Asia, West Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. In areas like Niger, literacy rates can be as low as 19%. Conversely, developed nations consistently boast adult literacy rates of 96% to 99%.

..

That's a simple Google search about illiteracy rates. Most people are literate and educated and rational. Hence, rationality is common sense nowadays.

You can stop detailing the thread now.

And you think they learned common sense by reading or education? Illiterate doesn't mean mentally retarded.

Can an illiterate person have common sense? Yes, that's why it's called common. That's what level common sense is at.

Common sense is watching traffic and not walking in front of a car, that level of intelligence, that's it.

You're the one that pushed the common sense point, now you're proven wrong so you want to forget about it. It's the entire crux of your misunderstanding Carl. It's essentially impossible that Carl would use less than common sense, you think Carl is using a level of intelligence that would knowingly walk in front of a moving car?

@JirhYes, very cool. That's essentially rationality to post-rationality. Rationality is a failure to recognize the magical aspect of reality while trating it as some dead and souless process.

So you think that common sense only means what the majority do?

What if everyone is deceived? Are you partaking in common sense then?

@Elliott You want me to get fixated just on one little thing, thanks but that's not what I am after.

Stop manipulating.

Understanding common sense, surely it isn't that hard right?. Or is it...

To me, common sense is more like a stepping stone towards higher truths. It's the base that I like to stand upon in my search for truth, so that I don't have to reinvent the wheel in everything every single time.

They might be.

But to me, deception is not a state of being. It's the attitude of being closed-minded.

Being responsible about proper understanding is always a good stance.

You dont understand what it means, but no, it's not hard to, you're just emotionally reactive about it therefore being dogmatic.
