@Rilles Why do people still commit sins even when they don't want to fail their God?

Feelings vs good boy ego.

Why do you eat cookies even though mommy told you no?

What drives either/both of these?

I'd say that flow created genuine happiness and this happiness is generated by having enough experience to feel confident in what you are doing.  You need both, it can't be one or the other.

@Rilles I don't know about everyone else, but for me the driver is always a desire to feel good, not necessarily goodness. Aka, seeking pleasure and avoiding pain, regardless of consequences.

Okay, sort of agree, good=survival. Whats your overall point?

Physical pleasure and mental happiness cannot be hoarded. Your adaptive mechanisms will balance it out according to your survival needs. However, cultivating resilience and vitality, or the ability to deal with survival effortlessly, leads to a refinement of one's being, physiologically, psychologically and emotionally, which leads to increased physical health and mental clarity – the basis of pleasure and happiness and richness of experience. Maximize internal integrity, minimize external dependency, integrate all faculties.

Intrinsic joy is revealed in the marriage of meaning and being.

Life for humans boils down to maximizing pleasure/happiness and minimizing pain/suffering. The rest is delusion and beating around the bush.

Same answer I would say, as long as you're human.

Life is to serve god. Life is to be of service to all life and to be a veichle for god to function and create more love in the world. That's the only real happyness. Selfish life is misery.

Very poetic this one ?

Explain suicide.

The person who commits suicide thinks death is better than life.. So it's still boil down to what feels better for the oneself.
