What would limit the imagination to imagine a shapeless color?

If you can't do it, there must be a strong link between shapes and colors. What is that link?

I can imagine the whole visual field showing a color, and that's not a shape.

And it's also doable in practice. Take a flashlight, shine it through something colored, close your eyes, shine it at your eyes from close distance.

The visual field is a shape.

No it's not.

Is your visual field finite?

What shape is it? A circle? No. A square? No. If it's a shape, how come you can't name the shape?

Can you even draw the shape for me? No.

Therefore it's not a shape.

I cant draw it here but the visual field has a limit. You cant see 360. So you can imagine a color but it will be limited by your visual field. The visual field has a circular quality.

Its good that you take my question seriously but I would advise you not to be so hasty. Think about it first.

What is shape? Isn't everything a shape?

Are feelings a shape? Is the phenomen of sound a shape?

No. You are comparing vision. Colour and shape are visions.

Okay I misunderstood you, You mean everything in vision.

Yes. Everything in the visual field is color and shape.

Hah, I tried to imagine a random color and it was either a rectangle or square.

Haha for me it becomes a triangle.

A shape needs a limit and the limit needs a color. Haha this is fun.

You guys are weird. It took me one second to imagine a color without shape. (Whole visual field.)

This isn't related to this topic at all but: kill me.

Were not trying to 1-up eachother. Its just an interesting phenonema I wanted to share. Its an open-ended investigation of perception. If you think youve reached some conclusion then good for you. Youll get an Actualized gold-star from Leo in your mailbox next week.

This forum is about Truth. So we should correct each other, and that way help each other find Truth.

In my direct experience what you said is not true. So I'm keeping up the investigation.

The difference between shape and color: color is infinite, shape is finite. One is inherent in reality, and the other is made-up by the mind.

Haha. That's some really good stuff.

Well that's unfortunate.

You said the visual field is kind of infinite. What kind of truth is that.

Because you can't see the edges.

We can assume the visual field ends since we cant see literally everything.

You are introducing the question with an arbitrary limitation you just created and confirming this idea by imagining no color without a shape.

Ask a random person to think of blue for a few seconds. Then when they are done ask them which shape their blue was.

You are not random though, you also are a believer of the no color without a shape cult of this thread xD

Some people may be more creative though. Ask a boring logical person I guess

I didnt know a thread could be a cult. I dont believe in anything. Im investigating right now. I like to investigate until I find a conclusion, right now I cant think of a color that isnt limited by a shape.

Perhaps my way of introducing the topic wasnt the best. I will think of that in the future.

"Can you think of a color without thinking of a shape?" Would be better.
