Eat breakfast, something like granola.

Eat 300-500 calories more than what you eat now.

Take creatine.

@BlackMaze Absolutely, but mostly water weight. It helps build muscle as well if you exercise.

It's super healthy for the mind as well, everyone should be taking it like Ben Greenfield suggests.

Start going to the gym and track your calories. There are lots of calories calculator in the internet, and you will have to set your goal which will be gaining weight or (bulking)

@fridjonk cool. Do you cycle it? Do you take a break once in a while?

Is water retention healthy? I remember taking cortison for example and gained 4 kg in 3 days and after i stopped i immediately lost them again.

Your body will tell you when its had enough.

I usually go for like 6-8 months on then 2-12 months off, but that's just me. I'm not very obsessed with supplements.

Just take em when you feel like taking them.

Your body is like 70% water so I don't see how water retention could be bad unless you're not exercising at all.

Eat.

I know, I know. Easy to say.

I had hypermetabolism and gained like 20 kg in a few months.

I didn't do it the most healthy way tho. Calorie rich drinks help.

Eat as many times a day as you can.

Work out a lot, this will help with hunger and it will make sure that you don't just get fat.

Count calories at least in the beginning to make sure you are not fooling yourself when you say "But I'm eating a lot". Myfitnesspal is great for that.

Don't wait till you are hungry for eating.

Cut caffeine since it can suppress your appetite.

@Hellooo

Hey, super cool that you want to make a change! I'm not super fit, but I had once very bad health. I was fat, then skinny until I finally got 'it'. Assuming you are healthy I recommend the following. Most People tend to overly complicate plans, but gaining weight is rather simple:

Gaining Weight = Diet + Training + Rest + Mindset.

Here are some Explanations:

1. Diet

  • Mandatory: Track your Diet with an App. I was against it but my GF got me to use it. It's very Handy and you can scan Barcodes of many Products
  • Get your Macros right: ~20 Protein/30 Fat/50Carbs
  • Eat 1.3 Times the Calories what you need
  • Read some Books or research on the Web

2. Training

  • Train regularly with free Weights and  Body Weight Exercises
  • 2 to 3 Times a Week and don't overdo it! less is often really more
  • Research about how you do it and be sure to make it right, then lift a lil more weight every week or so

3. Rest

  • Sleep Enough
  • Get at at least a Day a week off

4. Mindset

  • less is more
  • Stay on Track for at least 6 Months AND IF YOU FOUND A GOOD PLAN, DON'T CHANGE IT EVERY 2 WEEKS -- Things need TIME:)
  • Calculate set-backs in
  • Track you Gainings on a Paper-Calendar where you see it all the time..
