Self-inquiry and ego backlash

7 posts in this topic

Can self-inquiry be the cause for ego backlash? Have you ever had a great session of self-inquiry followed by an ego backlash? Can it be the ego's reaction when it is questioned?

What do you think?

of course! The deeper you dig, the more you drown in the shit.

But it's already dug up too deep to go back, aye? ;)

The only is way forward is through it.

Yes! Dig deeper into what it is presenting during the backlash... look all the way through that too. It's a wild ride.

Also - try your best to get into a state of not knowing - that is why i believe we try to quiet the mind, because with that you are quieting the ego.

I know that is hard in practice, but you will have good days and bad days, where sometimes the ego will be rather dormant, and that's a time when you can potentially break through.
