Life DOES have an objective meaning

You are too lost in the mind. Meaning is only meaninful inside the mind. Maybe try some meditation practice and get out of the monkey-mind loop? It won´t get you anywhere, friend.

Getting out of the monkey mind completely is not a possible task since you have thoughts while you're alive. If you mean to calm it down then I'll take your suggestion. Thanks for the tip.

A common stage Orange idea due to the popularity of Darwinism, but it is wrong.

There is no meaning in reproduction.

No clue of who that is but I will probably research it.

@Roman Edouard  Can you see the paradox here between reality and the mind that relentlessly demands answers for it's own satisfaction?

Existance has no questions or reasons why. But yet it exists just fine without.

It is true reality doesn't say "the meaning of why I created life is blah blah" but let me give you an example of something. Imagine fire burning a paper. It turns the paper to ash. The fire doesn't say "the meaning of why I burned this paper was to turn it to ash". But it burned the paper since the fire was hot. So the fire doesn't think of it's creation of having meaning but the meaning of why the paper was burned was due to the fact that the fire was hot. Therefore the ash did in fact have a meaning of why it exists, just not a mind that says so. If that makes sense, it's hard to word properly. Even when two organisms mate they are not really creating a child themselves. A lot of non-living things are performing functions to make it. The cum, the egg, a place for the baby to be stored, and so on. I personally don't believe that anything is alive in the way we think it is but that's a different topic.

It may also be worth noting that maybe some components of life have a purpose of reproduction - like maybe it is the purpose of certain hormones to make us feel the need to reproduce. It might even be argued that the biological purpose of being alive is to reproduce. But purpose is different than meaning, biological stuff is its own part of existence but can't be proven to be all of existence, and there are different types of meaning anyway.

In the general lexicon of word usage, I would consider "necessary" as most objective, "meaning" as most subjective and "purpose" as in-between.

Purpose suggests intention. I think there is a basic concept of intention related to the self and a more metaphysical usage of intention beyond the self.

You cannot change people.

People change themself.

but that's maybe "my own truth", your's is to guide and believe you can, maybe you do. who knows, not me indeed.

if you feel that you have to guide people this way, may be it

why someone else couln't do it in ways you cannot comprehend ?

This makes complete sense from a rational perspective.

There is also a perspective that is non-rational.

@Roman Edouard Life ultimately has the meaning you give it.

But then that's subjective meaning since you can change any meaning that you give to your own life at any moment.

the paradox is why you all keep writting mindless shit on a forum if nothing has a meaning.

you could use your dream time for a better good time, like wanking all days on porn star.

Because what fucking matter ? not suffering matter ? LOL suffering is good, it's great, I LOVE IT. <3

None of what I'm writing on this forum is meaningless. It's subjective meaning since I personally assign that meaning.

Why play sports if it doesn't have meaning? Why learn if it doesn't have meaning? Why climb mount Kilimanjaro if it doesn't have meaning?

Why does a bird soar through the sky? Why does a polar bear cuddle her cubs?

It is the magnificence of life.

Yah, in my starting comment I say that life has objective meaning (reproduction) but you can still do whatever else you want in it. But it will usually end up in reproduction since that's what most humans do. Along with other animals, stars, planets, fire, and everything else in the universe. Everything reproduces. When we play sports I call that subjective meaning since that is your idea of what you want to do in your life.

Ah, so you're preparing yourself with defense mechanisms to deal with a potential threat that may come later on in your life. That's a wise metaphor.

@Roman Edouard  The answer I gave came from a squirrel and a change in seasons.  Do they need a meaning to exist?

I think we have two different definitions for the word "meaning". Language is a tool to aid the imagination so in order to understand someone else's words you would need to see what they see in their mind. Which is not currently possible. That is one of the most potent limits of language. When I say objective meaning I mean why something exists in general or why something is the way it is. Like if an apple falls from a tree then the meaning of why that happened was gravity and mass. When I say subjective meaning then I mean seeing others as attractive or thinking that you are tall.

@Roman Edouard When winter comes wood is chopped. Threat? No threat. Just the chopping of wood.

I used to think this too, but just because you have a sexual desire doesn't mean that is the meaning of life, lol.

@Roman Edouard Meaning is a paradigm suspended only by the conceptual support it's given.

I never had children and I never had a desire to have children. I've always had a strong aversion to having my own kids. Does my life lack objective meaning?

We have the technology to kill off all men and keep the human race going without sexual reproduction. Would such a world lack objective meaning?

There are two ways to look at this. Either I'm completely wrong about reproduction being the objective meaning to life or it could be a more generous objective meaning. That you don't have to want to have kids since mostly everyone around you does. Or perhaps it's not humans reproducing "kids". I think I am in the wrong though from thinking about your comment though. xD. It was worded so well.

It's still reproduction, isn't it bub?

xD, I'm joking. I see your point now and I agree that there is no objective meaning to life.

This is off topic but adults are abnormally developed lol. It just amazes me. Whereas I am currently a teenager and I can just see how undeveloped I am. Not being dramatic. This is literally the case. One thing that I'm glad for is my video game addiction. It made me realize that I am not developed enough yet to quit ANY addiction. This has helped me stay away from things such as Instagram, porn, unhealthy youtube vids, etc. Since I know for a fact that once I get hooked to ANY of the things I mentioned then I won't be able to quit it at all. Over the past 2 years I've been trying to quit playing video games with absolutely no success at all. Adults can also just do so much work and handle so much stress. It's insane.

None of them are closer to the Truth, they are all the Truth :)

You see, the reason you want to be better, is the reason why you aren’t. Shall I put it like that?

We aren't better, because we want to be.
