What impels Ego to commit sins, constrained as it were by force?

9 posts in this topic

If God's Nature is responsible for all actions, and sense-reaction is inevitable. How is ego responsible for any evil that may proceed from such response? Why are there sinful actions?

The desire for oneness can sometimes look like "sin".

When the drive "I need you to love me" doesn't get fulfilled, it may turn into suicide, murder, rape, power, control, and manipulation.

People feeling unloved is dangerous.

There is no such thing as evil. Evil is the projection of YOUR ego.

To you evil appears to exist because you think it is important that you survive. If you surrender your attachment to survival, all evil in the world will disappear at that precise moment.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

No one is responsible for anything since no one asked to be here. Whatever happens is a result of conditioning :)

Just because there is no such thing as evil doesn't mean that the desire to do evil is not bad. The desire for evil act, the motivation for doing evil, the evil state of mind is there. One who has a desire to do evil act, one who takes an interest in doing evil, one who feels happy in doing evil, one who takes credit for doing evil , even though no such thing as evil, the idea that he has done something, his taking pleasure in evil acts, his mental belief that evil acts are possible, all of this is evil, sinful. Because all this happens in unconsciousness. Even if you do charity unconsciously, that is evil.

From Bhagavad Gita

What is Sin:

  • Desire is sin
  • Anger or Hate is Sin
  • Raga (likes) and Dvesha (dislikes) are sinful
  • When human is prompted by desire

Not Sin:

  • When mind is tranquil and intelligence united with God

Desire is not a sin

Anger is not a sin

Hate is not a sin

Likes and dislikes is not a sin

Try recontextualizing sin, as speaking and thinking against self, and all is self.
