Ethical marketing basically identifies potential users that might benefit from your product or service and truthfully educates them on the value so that they might buy it.

There are ethical and unethical versions of these things but these days, our society is rampant with unethical business practices.

This is my opinion but I think it can be unhealthy and unhelpful to generalize so much. Marketing can simply be offering a 50% promotion for first time users so that they are willing to try something out in order to convert them to a repeat customer. I don't see anything corrupt about that.

I guess you could add a bias against marketing to the list of biases.

But early on, the videos you were making were on the same theme as the life purpose course, they serve the function of attracting the right avatar. all your videos back then circle back to the importance of having a life purpose.

whether you intended it or not, there were so many persuasion principles applied to your videos back then, like transparency and trust building, reciprocity, liking, unity and identity, commitment and consistency, authority... and all that serves as funneling the viewers to the life purpose course, eventually. 

won't that be marketing/persuasion? just holistically and indirectly by engineering a good top of funnel and the right branding ecosystem?

also, i think you're biased against not knowing the ultimate truth. You seem to see people who haven't realized the ultimate truth as profoundly self-deceived or unintelligent and unwise.

@Leo Gura not sure if you can call it a bias and it's probably no longer true anyway but in your old videos and in your life purpose course you had a bias towards mainstream self-help advise and its importance for achieving material survival success.

Even though you yourself, and most self help teachers have achieved their material successes prior to self-help. 

I think this is problematic because it then leads people to believe that there is something wrong with them / thei psychology and that they need to find some self-help course / secret to fix themselves in order to achieve success and this then distracts their attention from steps that would actually help. Like just thinking about how they can start a business (or whatever) directly. Self-help almost feels like escapism from real action for me sometimes.
