A Course In Miracles Is Amazing

36 posts in this topic

I've finally finished the text.

My verdict: ACIM is the greatest spiritual work ever written; every other book pales in comparison.

Did Schucman truly channel Jesus? Probably not, but it is undeniably a divine piece of writing, beautifully composed in iambic pentameter.

So much needless suffering could've been avoided had I taken it seriously sooner. Such greatness was sitting right under my nose for years.

Now, I'm going to read it again!

The workbook is good.

But God-Realization is far beyond that.

God-Realization exists in a higher plane of consciousness which no books captures.

A different point but the conversations with god books are amazing.
I would listen to them on my way to work in my early 20s after getting your book list.

Someone has created a musical based on A Course in Miracles!

I've finished the workbook, and my verdict is this: no human could have possibly written a book like this. It seems impossible, yet here it is.

This course is essential; there is simply no substitute for reading the text and doing the exercises. While The Universe Is a Dream and The Disappearance of the Universe are nice additions, they aren't enough on their own. You must go to the source material—it's the only thing powerful enough to retrain your mind. Meditation, yoga, and even psychedelics fall short; you need the structure and transmission this course provides. Even just reading it brings such peace of mind.

I honestly didn't think a spiritual book could blow me away this far along in my journey, but this course is incredibly profound.

The light has come. I have forgiven the world. I have forgiven you. (ACIM, W-75.10:5-6)

ACIM seems to me like the biggest bullshit in all of spirituality. It's a text aimed at the subconscious mind that is desperate for security, for a higher power that loves it and takes care of it like a mother cares for a child, and also for a mission, a purpose for reality, which is "bad" right now but will be "good" later.

It’s an all-out assault on the waterline of the human psyche that feels loneliness, isolation, and fear. Zero enlightenment, totally a scam.

Enlightenment is total openness to the now, and there aren't a thousand pages of made-up stories or exercises for the naive; there is the total now, and period!

No fathers, sons, and the fucking Holy Spirit!!!! Are we out of our minds? It's a psychotic, paranoid book, like all religions. They are psychotic episodes put into writing. Human beings love psychosis. Being enlightened is absolute emptiness regarding story, and total fullness regarding life. Forget that nonsense for the mentally ill and open your mind and your heart to this moment. Period, nothing more.

@Breakingthewall it's okay for others to find benefit in teachings we don't resonate with.

You don't have to insist on your particular worldview whenever someone doesn't agree.

We might think we are helping someone when we see troublesome paths; but we don't know that person and what's best for them. Especially when it comes down to how something is interpreted and there is nothing obviously damning🫶🏻

The truth is the truth. There is no relative truth, it's absolute. All the histories are just histories, confusion. Spread that confusion an making people lost in them is just shit, in my humble opinion.

Sure. I just don't think you are going to convince anyone this way.

Maybe someone read what i wrote and think: wtf, it's absolutely obvious, how could I ve been lost in those bullshit when here and now the absolute is being in all it's depth and life, and it's meaningless because "meaning" is just a form that appears, forms that flow in the fluid dance of forms. now I feel it's vitality, it's power, it brilliance, my mind and my heart are totally open to this unfathomable depth that lives, I'm one with it, in fact I am that. Who needs to read invented histories and believe them? That's crazy, the absolute is, that's all

If you want I can you show you something that relates to acim and would blow your mind to the next level. But not everyone responds to it positively, I learnt that the hard way.

To truly love something is to grant that thing freedom. It is to hold it in an open, outstretched palm of your hand without clenching over it.

Wrong my lovely. You haven't read the book; you are spinning second hand news. The words forgiveness, salvation and miracle mean nothing like you believe.

The Course is remarkable in that it starts where the reader is at. If the reader believes in a God who answers prayers and performs miracles, the Course will work with that. It tells you, by all means pray to God and your prayer will be answered but you will remain stuck and won't encounter the living truth. Up to you. The Course requires deep study and humility to discard everything you ever considered to be true. The Course says nothing about this world; it doesn't tell you what to say or how to act. It retrains your mind how to think about the world. Every moment we either project this existence or we extend the love of God. You can only do those two things. Projecting gets you what you now see. Extending gets you what the Course calls The Real World. There is no turmoil, no misery, no anguish. All of those are defences that I inflict on myself. Indeed, the message of the Course is, I am doing everything to myself. If I extend love, I will heal and stop self-harming. It is so simple but the ego wants to complicate and to listen to second hand accounts.

I endorse the Course unreservedly. I am nearly two times through the workbook and every day the truth is more blazing. I recommend all give it a shot. I can truly say it has been the only worthwhile enduring spiritual practice in my entire life. I will continue to shine its light for the rest of my days.
