Being "in the mirror" represents your physical ego and conscious identity, while being on the "other side of the mirror" symbolises your subconscious, spiritual depth, or a threshold to unseen realms. 

 

Being in the Mirror (The Reflection)

The Ego and Illusion: Standing in front of the glass means you look at your physical form, your social mask, and your surface identity. 

The Present Reality: Spiritual teachings often view the immediate reflection as truth of the physical moment—showing what you project outwardly to the world. 

The Observer: You are the active consciousness experiencing life through a biological lens, trapped temporarily in the feedback loop of how you judge your outer appearance and actions. 

 

The Other Side of the Mirror (The Unknown)

The Portal or Gateway: Many esoteric and occult traditions view mirrors as thin veils or portals connecting our physical dimension to spiritual planes, ancestral realms, or parallel dimensions. 

The Unconscious Mind: Psychologically and spiritually, stepping through or looking past the surface reflection represents diving into your hidden shadow self, repressed memories, and deep intuition. 

The Divine or True Self: Some mystical traditions suggest that the other side holds the source of light—where the reflection ceases and pure, undivided consciousness or the divine begins.

It’s very simple: this is reality. There isn’t a physical plane and a spiritual one or a divine god mode; there is just reality. The ego is reality, everything that exists is reality.

The point is to stop being trapped in form and to open yourself to the formless, which is the essence of form. It makes no difference whether it is spiritual, material, or anything else; the Absolute underlies everything, you may perceive it or not.

You are the Absolute appearing as a self; therefore, if you are wise, you will be able to break through.
