Tears is so open world, what are you talking about.

Haaaa my bad, yeh I meant another one (looked into it, it's skyward sword which I really didn't like )

Don't know why I thought skyward sword was Tears.

you right Tears is the last one after breath, didn't had time to play this one, which is basically like breath of the wild. ( in gameplay )

This one was too scripted for me, I really like when they are freestyle and you feel like the world just await you for doing stuff.
But I m sure if you're into narrative it's a good one.

This is why Breath was awesome too.

You can skip the cutscenes, doesn't take long before you can do anything you want.

No I just had dyslexia with all their names, I barely followed nintendo games those last 10 years and totally forgot the last one was Tears.

edit : after watching a whole walkthrough, I m not attracted to it ( that's also why I avoided it at times, but watching another vid ), the landscape/vibe doesn't feel rights, the artistic direction feel weak somehow, way way less pretty, less poetic.

watched this through :

Playing it is a different story. The art style makes perfect sense when you're immersed into the game. Just a matter of taste from first glance I guess.

Perfect video to explain how I feel, especially the part where he highlights what Breath of the Wild did well.

Basically, Tears of the Kingdom feels too much and too over-the-top to me.

Breath of the Wild and Wind Waker had a clear direction.

Tears feels like a Zelda game with 10 mods installed. The whole vehicle-building thing feels like an absolutely awful design choice to me. I don't want to play it, and I already know I probably won't like it no matter what.

I like simple poetic beautiful game or I wonder in my mind.

I've watched even more videos, and I usually know pretty quickly, just from first impressions, whether a game is going to convince me or not.

Tried playing those Zelda games. They are too childish for me. Doesn't feel like a real world.

@AION They're not supposed to feel like a real world 🤣 that's the point of high-fantasy mate, to envision a world that is unimaginable different from our own + something being childish is not a bad thing, in fact, "childish" art produces universes like Zelda's.

Zelda shouldn't be gritty and "realistic" cause then it wouldn't be Zelda would it LOL

I fully agree, that's why I did not click with Tears of the Kingdom. But I am sure there is a beautiful game in there for everyone once it clicks sometime. I will revisit it one day in the future. I am totally on-board with the critique though from a level of game-feel. ToTK was the greatest departure from the whimsy of classic Zelda, so it makes sense long time fans were upset... BUT this move was necessary to create the game that ToTK is. You don't have to like the direction, but it was essential for ToTK to operate like it does. Again, it's a matter of taste.

Zelda ocarina of time original was the best game ever made in human history.

Ocarina of Time is my top favourite - we cannot forget the Z-targeting mechanic was introduced with that game. Sticky targeting didn't exist prior to Ocarina (if I am not mistaken).

I loved Majora's Mask also. Ocarina and Majora are quite dark - but many good fairytales are. Majora's Mask was difficult to get into, but as an adult replaying it I loved it even more! Very dark, melancholy and disturbing.

The music from both of these games was hands down some of the best from legacy eras. I often listen to mixes on youtube :D

That is not what I meant.. the game didn't feel alive, just big empty spaces, robotic creatures that are predictable. Missions were ass. It felt like a grind. Only nintendo games I like are Mario and that kind of stuff because it is fun and cartoonish. As I child I played pokemon on nintendo which was good too. But most of these nintendo games are not my type. Playing RD2 right now and nothing can hold a candle to that game imo.

Felt alive to me as a kid and still does to people discovering it for the first time. Literally spoke to a guy other week who's just getting into Zelda and he said he was taken aback by how much whimsy and character the game had. You gotta use your:

P.S. the sequel; Majora's Mask, has some of the most charismatic, vibrant and idiosyncratic set of characters within a virtual gaming space to this date. The reason that game is so revered is because Clock Town felt alive despite the limitations of the N64. Yes, the technology was barebones, that's where your IMAGINATION comes in.
