What’s interesting in that all spiritual teachers now feel the need to make videos explaining their position on psychedelics.  It’s because psychedelics have become a big fad and they are getting constant questions from their followers who demand they get on the bandwagon.  I now consider it a test of integrity which spiritual teachers resist the pressure and are willing to take an unpopular position rather than condone false hope in a quick fix to deep existential problems.

Surprisingly good take overall.

My biggest critique is that he seems to think "natural" enlightenment experiences are superior. They are not.

I'm with him on taking it seriously, but he is ignorant of the fact that he is on some chemicals. So to think that drugs can't help you get enlightened is misleading. If so, then he would have to discredit his enlightenment by his logic because his criterion is fallacious in the first place.

Sure, the body might not contain those chemicals. Its survival won't depend on those chemicals. But that doesn't constitute whether the experiences on those chemicals are false and inferior.
