There Is No "True Nature" Of Reality

96 posts in this topic

The story is not written, and also it is.

Everything is finished (aka. perfect), and also it isn't.

Infinity has no limits, and also it does.

You are God, and also you aren't.

You don't exist, and also you do.

Reality can be described, and also it can't.

The Absolute cannot be known, and also it can.

It's all paradoxical, and also it isn't.

That is the paradox.

limitlessness is, because has not limits.

Being manifest in appearances because what not appears don't manifest .

Appearances are relative because appearing means relationship .

Any relationship is dynamic, is happening , and has a beginning and an end, but the fact of relationship hasn't limits.

There are not paradox, just the affirmative fact of being.

Whatever has an opposite is relative.

That which doesn't have an opposite is Absolute.

Like I said before, this isn't rocket science.

"Unlimited" is the opposite of "limited", ergo both are relative qualities.

That which has no opposite must be/include both and neither.

Again, not rocket science.

It's also rocket science according to you 😅

@Hyperion

You’re caught in a loop.

That's why they call me a fruit loop. :P

I wouldn't necessarily say I am "caught" though... just riding the loopy merry-go-round of Infinity. 'Cause what else is there to do?

Yes there is. The true nature of reality is to eat shit sleep socialize and meet your well being needs. This is the one and ONLY true nature of life. NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE. your claim of "oooh theres no true nature of reality" is just you avoiding the reality I have just said

Yes, that is relatively (un)true.

After this last retreat I went on, I think idealism might just be the final stepping stone before you can finally embrace direct realism. The realization I had is that phenomena simply exist . I already knew they didn't come from a brain; but I was still attached to the idea they come from consciousness. Even writing this I'm doubting it, but the realization on retreat was obvious : phenomena exist, nothing creates them, not even consciousness. Ironically direct realism is the unconscious view we all had as babies, so when you deconstruct your conditioning, you come back to the natural viewpoint . This is a very recent development for me but I wanted to share bc it's profound.

When I think about it it doesn't make sense , I'm not sure the intellect can understand it. The intellect assumes cause and effect , that everything has a source .

Beautiful.

This is a great insight, and I know exactly where you are coming from when you say this. Just notice that "all things are uncaused" is still a relative perspective. As I always keep pointing out: Absolute Truth/Reality includes and transcends all possible perspectives. (And even that is relatively (un)true, lol.)

What type of retreat have you been on?

Zen retreat (sesshin). I don't go to those 10 day vipassana retreats because they're too long (at least for this part of my path). A sesshin is usually 4 or 5 days.

Nice. Do you do them often?

The only retreat I have ever attended (7 years ago) was a Vipassana retreat in Spain, which for me honestly was the most relaxing holiday of my life. Nothing to do but eat, sleep and meditate... it really doesn't get any more chill than that. xD

Though I understand that for many people it's a quiet challenging experience to go through, but I actually found it pretty enjoyable tbh.

I can't explain it other than to say there is an intelligence behind everything. Everything is that intelligence.

When the secret is revealed to you, you will know that you are not other than God, but that you yourself are the object of your quest.

@Hyperion yeah I try to do 2 a year

haha I wish! Meditation doesn't come naturally to me at all . I have to fight and work my ass off just to sit for 20 minutes lol. It gets easier on a retreat but still a pain.
