Lindsay Clancy -Mother of 3 kills her kids during psychotic episode

17 posts in this topic

As she confessed to the murder of her three kids, it's just a question if she goes to jail or the psychward. There's a strong argument to be made that she's basically insane but also mishandled as mental patient (IE. her carers are responsible for the incident is the argument they want to make).

That said, I don't think being able to plead insanity should relieve one of culpability. It feels like a loophole to get away with murder, and it does get used like that broadly speaking.

I also think that because she's a women she gets treated with kid's gloves, as if women aren't capable of responsibility. It's weirdly sexist and infantalizing. Like, they want to make the case that it was largely the fault if bad psychiatry and that she's basically not culpable. Idk man. A man in the same court room would have a much harder time garnering sympathy. Sorry for going there.

I read a lot of posts where women were apparently feeling like she didn't deserve to be guilty and her husband at the time was more at fault? I understand the concept of empathy but this case is actually nuts. It's also a case of religious lunacy as her and her husband were Christians and she was relieved that her children were in heaven after she killed them.  She met with a chaplain 200 times while in the hospital.

Also homeboy was married to her in 2023 when this happened and now he's already remarried, that seems a bit quick to me lol or am I the only one

I think you're right but pleading insanity is not a get out of jail free card. They still get institutionalized for life. It's basically prison but a bit nicer and you talk to therapists more often.

It's incredibly disrespectful and crass towards the children who died to use the story as a springboard for one's gynocentric culture war. It's not dissimilar to Alex Jones using a school shooting to peddle his conspiracy theories. It's disgusting unhinged behavior.

It's fine to have a discussion about post-partum and shit but it can't be done algorithmically in a gross instrumental fashion (striking while the iron is hot type shit) and the obviously wrong thing must be acknowledged and taken a distance from (don't make the Gaza supporter mistake).

It's not "gynocentrism" or whatever, women obviously will never be actually running anything. I was just pointing out the obvious hidden malice of these particuliar women engaged in these comment sections and making the reaction clips/videos. Just saying this for clarification, yall can say any shit you want

Except, they are. The majority of law graduates are women. Liberal Women are the majority in psychology.

I mean at the highest level, they don't and never will.  And at the "bottom" level, society still needs to be mantained by men, at least until they get replaced by robots. Women are "running" stuff somewhere inbetween

Your moral outrage is the thing that's disgusting. These trends that can be observed. Men and women have different psychologies and sociological strategies. They tend to be more collective than men. It apparently shows up in cases like this. Pointing this out is factual evidence. Being a triggered social justice warrior is anti-intellectual cringe.

It's not about a culture war; it's about accurately understanding reality and making sure we don't fall for cognitive bias and cultural ideology that's not favourable to us as individuals.

Falsely stereotyping people is a completely different phenomenon than reacting to what people are literally posting themselves and literal surveys that are coming out where women are backing her up over him because they relate more to the female experience than a random man. Women having a lack of empathy for men is a documented phenomenon. Men care more about women than women care about men. Plenty of hard data that backs this up. What you're doing is called benevolent sexism, it's also a documented phenomenon.

There is a phenomenal book written on this topic by a woman called the Manipulated man. Clearly you should read it.

It's not woo woo to point out how these tiktok women are using the story for their culture war and conspiracy theories. It's incredibly disrespectful to the victims. Instrumentalizing tragedy to peddle a particular agenda is a gross thing. Obviously so. These tiktok women are just a particular strain of online echochamber brainrot.

It be like if saying that if your child died during a car accident that he actually deserved it because god only punishes sinners. Minimizing what happened, denying what happened and spreading falsehoods about what happened is wrong and harmful behavior, like these tiktokers are currently doing. Are you denying that?

What? Lmao what did I just witness in real time. You just completely pivoted your point and what you were arguing before as I deconstructed it. Obviously I think you are right with this new comment but that wasn't your point at all previously.
