How to Deal With Forgetfulness?

9 posts in this topic

When I lead a healthy lifestyle (meditating, eating clean, exercising, keeping good mental health, etc) I get used to this and forget how it is to live with unhealthy lifestyle.

Then I fall back into bad habits like scrolling and my rut starts right here.

I just forget how it is to live a good life. I look at other people who lead unhealthy lifestyles and sometimes I can think: 'Look, they are fine, nothing happened to them even though they scroll, drink and smoke a lot' and I fall back into rut here too.

How to escape this forgetfulness? Appreciate your answers!

Forgetting - or establishing a habit?

Maybe two sides of the same coin 🙃

Do something enough, repeated, and there is no need to remember. It becomes a habit. Like wiping your arse with tp.

Practice makes perfect - whenever you fuck up just get back on the horse. Don't worry about falling off the wagon. The more you practice starting again the closer it becomes a habit and reflex.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

Most dissociate; tune in and the signal will stay as much as you can discern the groundedness to do so. Be careful about the advice you get on here, its from people who dissociate a lot, the forum is presently poorly managed.. Please put yourself first.

Visions and anti-visions are powerful motivators during conception, but they stop providing energy after a while.

You have to figure out how to make not scrolling valuable TODAY. Whatever ideal you want to live up to, it needs to payout when you practice it, not just pay out in the future.

"What kinds of experiences does my nervous system naturally find rewarding, and how can I redesign the workout so it contains more of those?"

Then there's the problem of energy. You have to be careful not to put too much on your plate. And you have to do something in your leisure time. Why not block off some time to scroll if you enjoy it?

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

Three-quarters of heavy smokers end up in hospital before they reach 50.

Alcohol can be enjoyable and fine in moderation, I personally like certain alcoholic drinks but otherwise it remains toxic and alcohol is a shitty drug.
