Bruh how do antibiotics work then? It kills your body (the microbial part of it)

They mostly leave human cells alone. They fuck with your gut biome a bit, but that's it. The risk/reward ratio is worth it because the alternative is death or severe infection. The same cannot be said for dry fasting.

Chemotherapy the same.

Again, it's targeted at the cancer and your body is just collateral. In this case the risk/reward ratio is worth it because, again, the alternative is death.

Drug addicts who fall so deep into the darkest depths of depravity where they realize at the very last step that if they don't turn around they will literally die, some of them completely turn their life around.

Yea, but it's better to just not become a drug addict in the first place and then you don't need to experience rock bottom to redeem yourself. Most of the drug addicts who reach rock bottom end up dead. Recovery from that point is not a certainty, it's an exception.

Short bursts of extreme but controlled physical exertion and muscular rupturing (during exercise) unlock genes that change your body, making your body bigger and stronger.

This is breaking your body in a way it's designed to be broken. Your body is designed to build muscles to increase strength when necessary. Your body is not designed to recover stronger from dry fasting. Again, if it were, then sub-saharan Africa would contain some of the healthiest people in the world, yet it doesn't.

All of these are examples of false equivalence.

Yet there is short-term and/or long-term damage. I know somebody who knows somebody who allegedly developed Celiac's disease after an antibiotic treatment. A cohort study found a correlation that would support this: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30836095/

Yet there is short-term and/or long-term damage. "How chemotherapy damages the central nervous system" — https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2397491/

The point is not that you should. The point is it does happen.

All examples are false equivalence. The important part of the equivalence is that there are things that do damage or reduce functioning in the short-term (and perhaps sometimes even in the long-term in some ways), that are often unsustainable in the long-term, and that when taken short-term, they can lead to improvements in functioning over time.

And perhaps even if dry fasting does lead to long-term damage (like chemotherapy), if you have a very debilitating disease and there is a chance that dry fasting could cure it, maybe the trade-off is worth it?

You're supposed to go into dying mode, that's how you kickstart the survival processes in your body.

But maybe not through dry-fasting. Maybe you can let the disorder itself bring you to this wall, especially if every other method didn't help the body recruit its intelligence according to our assumption here.

The notion that you can heal all your health problems is false.

I definitely agree that this is true.

And I suspect that the growth in these instances is to come to the realization that not everything negative exists to be overcome. Some negatives are there to accept and surrender to.

But it did bring up a question that I'm curious about, as someone who has gotten insight into my issues with chronic pain via my medicine journeys.

Basically, I've had back, neck, and jaw problems of a mysterious origin since I was a child... with a lot of pain and stiffness in the neck. And each Ayahuasca journey that I took began with my neck automatically swiveling around and "unlocking" this area of the body to reveal repressed unprocessed feelings of terror and grief.

And the message seems to be more about being willing to feel those feelings constantly without resisting them... rather than finding relief from them.

And one of the insights about why I had all this pain was because all the suffering of the world was located in my throat on some higher dimension of reality. And that higher dimensional element of myself (God) started to swivel our neck around, and all of the universe turned into a whole amusement park of suffering and mercy, where it became unclear where suffering ends and mercy begins.

And it was just one of the games that God plays with itself. And it was showing me that I needn't worry about it as much as I do... as that which experiences it sees no distinction between suffering and mercy in its games.

And every journey that I've ever taken has had a lot to do with unlocking the neck and jaw.

Even once, when I was getting a procedure that required localized Lidocaine... this had the effect of immediately loosening up my neck and jaw muscles which have been perma-clenched since I was 8 years old. And that enabled me to become aware of feelings and a part of myself that I had been repressing since early childhood (like 4-5 years old).

So, that makes me curious...

Have you ever gotten any insights from your psychedelic journeys about your autoimmune issues?

If so, I'd be very interested to hear them... just out of pure curiosity.
