US is the leader in wealth creation and groundbreaking tech stuff by far, it doesn't even really matter if it losses foreign wars like the one in Iran currently, usage of oil is on it's way out anyway, it's just taking a very long time. US cannot actually lose in any real sense because it's geographically too well positioned, too wealthy and posseses too much resources. You can't really say the same about any other country, they're always missing something crucial, but US doesn't. Whoever took control of that piece of land, was just destined to control all the shit happenning in the world pretty much indefinitely. There's no point in glazing any country whatsoever, but I don't see a reason why you should be ashamed either, it's just such a weird thinking to me, idk. Some sort of needless self imposed guilt

We're a pyramid scheme though. The only way our national debt doesn't sink us in runaway inflation is if AI is a succes, it's a hail Mary. Our dollar will be worthless, it's why people want crypto.

Idk, I think debts are ultimately manageable, there's been multiple times in history in which major players got themselves indebted up to their ears, and managed to get out of that debt. If you are a major player with your own currency and strong institutions, you can get out of trenendious debts as evidenced by history. US debt is huge but not unique in this way. Dollar being wortless? I doubt it but time will tell. Everyone wanting crypto? Not really seeing that either. Ultimately I am the proponent that your material position as a nation determines it's actual geopolitical strength, not so much people's decisions, policies or culture. Money are ultimately just numbers on the screen, but the overwhelming material advantages I've mentioned above are decisive

Trump helped me transition. Fear helped me. Doing the opposite of the authority figure is me facing my fears. I did it to prove him wrong. I’ve been to women’s restrooms multiple times and go out in makeup and dresses and I am proud of who I am now. And kids and adults love my cute animals hats. I’ve had a grown ass man  walk up to me and say my hat is cute. And little kids stare at me in wonder.

Some compliment me, others give me disgusted faces. Doing this, all while living in Texas. It all love, man!

To say yes just like no is particularly narcissistic

Why? The United States is a phenomenal country both in its history and current power to affect mankind for the better. I say this as a Canadian. Narcissism is wanting unearned praise, America deserves plenty of praise. It is the bastion of innovation.

@Yimpa Cool perspective, it's important to be proud of who you are. Trans women are awesome.

If I were to troll I’d say that free will and the self in general is an illusion anyway, and so is pride, lol. But to bring things back down to earth I don't see the point of creating this concept and handing the keys over to a structure that’s far bigger than us like a country where we just happened to be born by chance.

The same goes for masochism; I don't understand how some westerners/white people can spend their lives caught up in negative obsessions regarding palestine, racism, and so on.

To me these are easy ways to boost one's ego; that's why I spoke about narcissism.

Maybe if she's nice to my other women.

Do you really believe that free will and the self are an illusion or are you using it as a common talking points in spiritual debates? I personally disagree and think our main experience of reality is free will, I don't mind debating the topic if you have a particular interest in it.

I agree that it's dumb to derive your sense of self from your country since you don't control it and it's on you to make the best of the cards you're dealt. I think it's an interesting topic in that America is currently facing a crisis of identity and the left winger are always quick to throw the baby out with the bathwater. As a Canadian I see both sides, my country is doing better in terms of human rights and universal healthcare and I'm proud and benefiting directly from that national ideology at work; I see a lot of americans that aren't wealthy suffering from the class elitisism that america is struggling with.

What future does this country have that is worth fighting for? What is my role in improving the state of American affairs?

My best guess is that I am meant to be proud of my history such as the victory in WWII which is a huge propaganda point for America. I had ancestors who fought in WWII and in Vietnam. One of them was on a ship that got hit by the Japanese over shark infested waters and he was one of the survivors. Personally, I think that is a cool story in my family history. It is the closest thing I have to being proud of being an American. The problem is that I don't see why the wars America fights in today are for a good cause. At least in WWII America stopped the Nazis and the Japanese who were brutal. Today America is disastrous with our forever wars and there doesn't seem to be anything to be proud of in the Middle East after what happened in Iraq in 2003.

That said, presently there is no reason to proud of America. Historically, the best case to be proud might be victory over the Nazis and Japanese in WWII or maybe victory over the British in the American Revolution. There are a couple of things to be proud of throughout American history that are pretty cool, but definitely not in the present.

The United States has been the country that has led the world to where it is today. Its flaws and mistakes have been enormous, its miseries and hypocrisies profound, as is human nature, but its drive has been brutal and the direction it has taken has been positive.

Other empires, such as the British, Ottoman, or Soviet, were far more brutal. Now the United States is slowly declining, but what it has created is not declining; it is rising with a force never before seen in human history. The United States has been the catalyst for a phase change in what it means to be human. Don't see what US has been for the human kind is being blind.

Aww 🥰

But it's probably all just your positive energy that attracts the good reactions.

Focusing entirely on military history to determine your pride is a massive bottleneck. The true American experiment isn't about the Pentagon; it's about the platform.

When you ask what culture we have worth protecting, you're ignoring the global operating system. The culture of individual agency, rapid innovation, and open-source collaboration that powers the modern world is uniquely American. The actual future of humanity from AI to private aerospace and biotechnology—is being funded and built here in the present, not in past history books.

Asking 'what is my role' is incredibly passive. The system is a decentralized playground. It gives you the infrastructure and freedom to build whatever you want. Your role isn't to sit back, watch the news, and grade the country's performance; your role is to utilize the platform to build something of value.

As long as you're not in a medical emergency without insurance it's a pretty big blessing to be American. Overall we might win though as Canadians sorry :P. Although our job market is quite tough at the moment, our unemployment is higher than in America.
