Are there any positive political leaders?

10 posts in this topic

Leo is opening our eyes to how power corrupts. All these people who come to power are selfish individuals who would do anything just to be in control; maybe they start with good intentions, but in the end, you will always look out for your own survival. At this point, my question is: does a political leader model to follow even exist? Has there ever been anyone in human history who didn't let themselves be corrupted? Or is there simply no escape, and every politician who promises us equality will ultimately just look out for their own interests?

Most Marxist-Leninist revolutionary Leaders in history were and are great but they are painted as evil by capitalist propaganda.

The problem is that if you learn about history from western accounts, you understanding is biased and unfortunately a lot of Leos information about history is skewed in that way. "Power always corrupts" and "the most selfish people seek power" is just not true and a lie spread by capitalists to make the working class believe capitalism is the only valid system, which is a lie.

I'm currently a big fan of Xi. I suggest you this video:

Mamdani, Bernie Sanders, AOC are pretty good examples in the USA right now. Mamdani especially.

Remember to vote in the midterms! And Vote blue no matter who.

He is fiscally pretty stupid like all socialists are, you just don't understand how economics work and the importance of that. Neither do you really know his intentions, you just assume he's good because of that smug smile of his and socialist policies lmfao. One irony about this whole situation tho, is that despite all that, this is such a unique time in history due to current and projected technological advancements, that Mandani's attitude of giving away/socialism may actually be beneficial since capitalism as we know it is going to fall apart. So in a certain sense, you are right.

Btw, socwokie and a classical bolshevik socialist on the same thread, what a combo rofl

Most are assassinated.

Politics is a dirty business.

Note: this doesn’t mean we should turn into de-politicized cogs in the machine.

Learn about the corruption, accept it then find proper channels to influence public policy. That of course assumes you’re part of some kind of functional democracy. Which is at a present day risk of collapsing due to authoritarian (anti-institutional) populism.

The one minute video is explaining how he balanced the budget. Seems like he's pretty fiscally responsible.

Exactly, it only seems like he is, because he's getting bailed out by the state, and because he pushed certain payments further down the line, so someone in the future is gonna have to deal with them. There are also already businesses that are re-orienting their future expansion out of the city into other states due to his tax the rich policy, which means lost future revenue. But like I said, shit probably don't matter no more

Yeah when you use other peoples money you tend to run out of it while somehow managing to live in obscene luxury in comparison.  Funny how that all works out.
